The Demon simply smirked at me, his lips curling up in both challenge and defiance as he spoke. “If this is how you show your gratitude, little Witch, I may make a habit of saving you.”

“You didn’t save me!” I panted the words as I slammed down against him, watching in satisfaction as the Demon ground his teeth together. Was he fighting the inevitable? Holding off just as I was?

“Not true, Marie.” The sound of my name on his lips as he clamped down against my hips, halting my movements as he thrust up into me in a sharp, blissful movement, had me moaning loudly, the forest swallowing up my sounds. “I saved you from the river, and I saved you from making a martyr out of your ex-lover.” I fought against his words, fought against the truth of them all, because if I had killed Julian, no matter the reason, I would have been seen as the usurper - the outsider that killed one of their own whilst visiting.

“But now we have a problem, little Witch.” Cortland maintained conversation flawlessly as he pressed his thumb against my clit, whilst thrusting up into me, making me a mindless bundle of pleasure. I moaned and bucked against him, but still he spoke, as if my impending orgasm had no bearing on our current conversation. “For you have marked him as a traitor, which means not even the river will accept him as a sacrifice.”

I stilled my movements against him, my impending orgasm suddenly slipping away, because the Demon was right. Merde.

But Cortland did not relent, he simply drove up into me harder, pushing his thumb against my clit in a way that had stars crossing my vision, and when I thought I couldn’t take anymore, he pulled himself up towards me, placing his delicious mouth on my breast, clamping down on my nipple. “What are you going to do, little Witch?” His whispered words against my chest between bites and nibbles on my breast had me retreating, but there was nowhere to go - nowhere I could escape his questions - escape the truth, and so instead, I did the next best thing. I allowed myself to tumble over the edge, squeezing around his cock, milking the Demon for all he was worth. We were a frantic mess, coated in mud and sweat as we pulled and pushed against one another on the forest floor. But before we could come down from that mindless euphoria, I lifted the knife into the moonlit air and brought it down onto the demon’s chest, watching in satisfaction as Cort gasped in surprise, red blood welling up from the wound.

In a moment, I was beneath Cortland, his bleeding chest heaving above mine as we still lay there connected - his cock twitching inside of me as his emerald gaze bore into mine.

“I don’t mind a little blood play, Witch, but some warning would be nice.” His voice was low and gruff, and so far that was the only indication he had given me that he was annoyed, but suddenly the knife was plucked from my hands, the blade pressed against my breasts in a way that sliced through the surface, creating the most delicious sensation. It wasn’t a deep cut, just a simple press of the blade, but it was enough to have me moaning beneath him - to have me giving into my baser instincts in a way that showed him exactly how much darkness lived within my soul.

Corland simply grinned down at me, and instead of judgment, I found only keen curiosity and satisfaction within his gaze, which was so much worse.

His lips grazed against mine in a shadow of a kiss, and suddenly the Demon was pulling away from me, leaving me painfully empty as I fought a wince that the removal of his cock enticed. By the time I sat up, our mixed arousal spilling from me into the earth, the Demon had escaped into the shadows, leaving nothing but my silver blade embedded into the soil.

The forest was eerily silent, the river strangely complacent, and I couldn’t stop the shiver that slid up and down my bare spine - an indication that something far greater than just me was afoot.
