Chapter Thirty-Six:

To Make a Madhouse

I was halfway througha delicious, toasted turkey sandwich when my phone buzzed. Logic told me it was my realtor trying a new tactic since I’d ignored three of his calls already, but I glanced at it just in case — and I was pleasantly surprised.

Mia: I need you. Text me when you’re here and get in the back of the Suburban. I’ll unlock it now.

“Fuck this sandwich.” I tossed it back on the plate and scrambled to find my pants and my keys, then sped to Sunday’s like I wasn’t the one trying to teach a teenager how to drive properly. My Mia needed me, and that was all that mattered.

When I got there, I climbed into the back of the Suburban and yanked my sweats and boxers down to my ankles, then played with myself as I watched for her to come out. Being summoned for sex was hotter than I wanted to admit, especially when she came out looking like she wanted to hurt someone. As badly as I wanted to comfort her, I couldn’t deny that angry sex with Mia was amazing sex.

She yanked the door open and slammed it behind her, scrambling out of her panties and onto my lap. Without so much as a word she was sinking down on my cock, her head falling back like she’d have died if she went another moment without it.

“Hi, baby,” I mumbled, rocking up to slide deeper as I wrapped my arms around her. “You okay?”

She shook her head and caught me in a kiss, bouncing quickly with her fingers digging into my chest. “Needed you. Always need you.”

It wasn’t an answer. It was clear she wasn’t in a talking mood, so I shut my stupid mouth and reached down to rub her clit with my thumb as I met every movement.

“Just like that, baby. Fuck, just like that.”

She rode me without many words after that, moaning and groaning and grinding harder as she reached that glorious edge. The windows fogged and I dragged my hand down the one closest to me as she came, throbbing and pulsing around my cock, making me grunt out her name and lose what little restraint I’d had.

I wrapped my arm around her and flipped us both, dropping her onto the seat and grabbing the headrests on either side of me as I hammered into her and filled up that beautiful, wet pussy.

“Ollie!” She was being far too loud for a parking lot, but I knew better than to tell her to be quiet. “Fuck ... thank you.”

“Of course, baby.” I kissed her quickly and then sat back to let her up. “How’s your day?”

“Long and slow.” She got up and touched my face. “I have to go back though, baby. Thanks for coming.”

“Huh?” I didn’t need a watch to know that couldn’t have been more than ten minutes. “Mia Camilla Perez, are you using me for sex?”

She finally softened. “Of course not, I was — shit, kind of. I didn’t realize that’s what I was doing. I’m sorry, Papí.”

“Hey, don’t apologize. I’m a boyfriend with many functions, and this is one of them. But if you’re having a bad day, maybe you could come over after work?” I asked, reaching down to pull my pants back up. “Or I could come to your place if it’s easier.”

Mia took a moment to think about it but as she stared at the bulge in my sweats I knew her mind had drifted a little. “Um ... your place? I’ll check in with Jago and Dinora before I get off and let you know?”

“Sounds good, baby. Try to have a better day, and I’ll have wine and a bubble bath waiting for you. You don’t even have to tell me what happened if you don’t want to. I’ll just spoil you until you forget all about it.”

“You always do.” She climbed back into my lap once she was cleaned as well as she could be, then kissed me slow and deep. “I’ll miss you.”

“I’ll miss you too.” I buried my face in her neck to inhale the scent of her skin, then placed a gentle peck to the base of her throat. “See you soon.”

“Soon.” We hopped out and she slapped my ass before walking away, but the closer she got to the diner, the more her shoulders slumped. I didn’t know what was going on, but I hoped she’d tell me that night.

It didn’t stop me from worrying about her as I stopped to get some wine and ingredients to make fajitas. I ignored two more of Jamie’s calls and constantly checked my texts to see if I was missing a notification or something from Mia, but nothing else came in until she told me she was on her way.

I had dinner on the table when she let herself in. “You hungry, baby?”

“Starving. Smells good in here.” She set her bag down and pulled me in for a kiss. “I like your cooking better than Sunday’s.”

“Because I cook with love and what’s-his-face cooks with spite and sadness,” I said seriously. “Do you want wine or water?”

“Wine, por favor. The whole bottle.” Once we were comfortable on the couch with our plates and wine, I noticed something I didn’t notice earlier. She had bags under her eyes.

I let her get half a glass and two fajitas in before I pressed. “Did something happen, baby? You look beautiful, but also like you haven’t slept much.”
