“How does that floor taste? Like your friends’ piss and jizz?” I smash is face three more times because that shit makes me happy.

He squirms to get away, but my knee is on his lower back, making it impossible for him to move. He wiggles like a giggling fucking toddler and gets away.

“Asshole! I’m gonna fucking kill you,” he says, managing to stand. Then he starts wildly swinging a blade in my direction.

“Oh, you want a knife fight?” I produce a blade of my own. “Let’s go, motherfucker.”

His face turns red with anger, and he lunges with a clumsy slice that tears the front of my t-shirt and nothing else.

“Dammit,” he says like someone stole his candy.

I smile. “Nice try, dick breath.” I swing next and the knife sinks into the skin between his shoulder and his chest. “That’s how you do it.”

He’s still swinging wildly and gets two baby slices on my right forearm and bicep. His satisfied smile just pisses me the fuck off, and I move forward, prepared to wipe that smile off his face permanently.

We both move forward at the same time except, my blade is longer and makes it to him first. The freshly-sharpened blade cuts through his abdomen like a tender steak, and he gasps and then grunts before falling to his knees, both hands now clutching his belly. “Don’t fuck with the Reckless Souls.” I take a step forward, and Ace puts a hand on my shoulder.

“That’s enough, Shades. We gotta get back.”

I nod, but I don’t move, not for a long minute. “Which one of you assholes threatened the girl at the church?”

Even through the pain of two stab wounds, the asshole smiles. “Fuck. You.”

“I still got my knife if you’re looking to get penetrated by something long and hard.” I smile at him and twirl the blade between my thumb and forefinger.

“It wasn’t either of us,” the other one growls, spitting blood on the floor and clutching his belly. “Get the fuck out.”

Ace kicks him in the head and pulls out his piece. A black Ruger nine mil and holds it out, ready to shoot anyone who moves.

“Shut the fuck up.” He turns to me. “Find something to tie these motherfuckers up with.”

My eyebrows shoot up, and I nod before I get moving to search for some rope. I don’t know what Ace has up his sleeve, but if it involves causing these assholes pain, I’m game. I find some thick twine wrapped around the drug crates in the front room and unravel three boxes worth to carry back with me. “Can I do the honors?”

Ace nods. “Crazy fuck. Make it tight.”

I nod and make the assholes face each other so I can tie their wrists together and then their ankles, behind their knees and waists.

“Can you move?”

“What the fuck do you think?”

I smile and slap him on the back much harder than I need to.

“You’re just lucky I don’t tie your dicks together. Downstairs,” I bark loudly at them.

I open the door to the dark basement and give them a shove that sends them tumbling down the rickety old stairs.

“Asshole,” one of them grunts.

“Hey, I could kill you. But I’m not going to,” I tell them as I take their joined arms and wrap more twine around the wood beam about seven feet off the ground. “You should be thanking me.”

“Thanks. Asshole.”

I smile at the dark-haired one and tighten the twine until he groans.

“You’re welcome,” I tell him and give one last punch, right to his side where he’s bleeding out. “Next time I see you, I will kill you. Both of you.”

I turn out the lights at the top of the steps and close the door, shoving a chair under the knob just to be a prick.
