Daddy's Adorable Assassin (Daddy's Little Deviants)
“Shall we go upstairs?”
He ran up the stairs, and I followed him at a slower pace. At the top, he hung over the banister and took ten years off my life.
“Cosmo, get down from there.”
“But it’s so fun.”
“And dangerous. What if you fall?”
“I won’t fall.”
Except he did exactly that when the material of his shirt slipped on the smooth edge and he tumbled forward. I caught him before he toppled over. He clung to me and I to him, my heart hammering in my chest.
“You caught me.”
“Of course I did. I wasn’t going to let you fall.”
He wrapped his legs around my waist and his arms around my shoulders, tucking his face into my neck. His lips ghosted my skin. “Thank you, Daddy.”
I was too choked up to respond. Please, god, don’t let him realize how much having him in my arms affects me.
