Savage Sinners (Elites of Macedon High 3)
“I’d like that a lot, Evelyn. Would be nice to get more acquainted with someone who knows this place really well.”
She gestures behind her, where the hallway is quickly emptying. A bell rings and ushers the rest of the students into class, leaving us standing inches apart in the hallway. If I didn’t know better, I’d say she timed that perfectly.
“Let’s get started with the library since it’s close,” she offered. “We have the best equipment in the state as well as the largest selection of periodicals available to high school students.”
“I’d love to know more about you instead,” I say smoothly. “Is that something you’re allowed to share?”
She shrugs while turning to lead me toward the library, watching me as I step beside her and establish a slow, meandering pace.
“I guess since I’m on the welcoming committee, that would make sense,” she says with a more confident grin. “I mean, you should know more about who’s giving you a tour, right?”
“My thoughts exactly.”
She licks her lips and drops her gaze to the ground for a second, that bashfulness just enhancing her beauty by a thousand. When she looks at me, she appears a lot more relaxed and ready to speak to me on a more intimate level. And I just can’t believe how easy it is to do.
She’s as easy as her sister, I think while listening to her talk. If she’s anything like Alex, she’ll fall quickly—for me and for her empire. She won’t have anyone to protect her without her family around.
My smile widens when she opens the door to the library. And once her death brings her sister back, the Morettis will be done for good.
