Made in Vengeance
He stood up to his full height. “I will be right back.”
My eyes widened at his towel-clad body. “Aren’t you going to get dressed first?”
He smirked. “I’ll be quick.”
He left the room before I could say anything else.
He was gone for less than a minute, and even then, I felt restless, afraid he might go back to ignoring me. I couldn’t help but perk up when he finally returned, something clanking in his hands.
It took me a moment to process what it was.
My eyebrows jumped in surprise.
He didn’t say anything as he climbed into bed with me for an afternoon nap.
Before I could say anything, he handcuffed my hand to his.
“You’re going to stay close by my side,” he said, watching me carefully.
I wondered if I was supposed to feel turned off by this. I swallowed and nodded. Being close to his side sounded like a good idea.
“I’m going to stay close by your side,” I repeated.
His huge shoulders sagged a bit, and he smiled at me, making it hard to breathe.
He lay down and pulled me to him, and we went to sleep like that.
