“Yeah?” She hummed, her voice lowered an octave as tiny little goosebumps danced across her skin.
“Fuck, yeah.” I licked the tip of her earlobe before pulling her outright and pressing all the soft curves of her into my rock hard body.
She must feel my erection, I hadn’t been trying to hide it, and the truth was, I couldn’t. This woman made me hard enough to pound nails. I’d had a constant problem on my hands with her name on it.
“Bravo! Bravo!” One of the college guys hollered pointedly at us, his eyes caressing all the parts of her body that were for my eyes only. She may not be mine yet, but as far as I was concerned the devil was in the details. I’d already seen her naked and pleasuring herself under my gaze; that made her pretty little kitty mine as far as I was concerned.
“Hey! Spin the pretty lady again!” The college asshole shot, eyes on mine this time. “Unless you need me to show her a thing or two, pops?”
My brain blitzed, crimson rage filling my eyes as I moved her behind me, a snarl already aimed his way before I flexed my arm and went for him.
“Parker!” My Catherine screamed, hand locked on mine, but it was too late. I was already crossing the space, ready to lay the drunk asswipe on the concrete. I fisted his shirt in my hand, ripping it as I hauled him to me.
“Look at my woman that way again and you won’t have any teeth, got me, fucker?”
His head shook, eyes wide. “Tell me you fucking got me or I’ll wipe your pretty boy face on the sidewalk.” He still wasn’t answering, so I tightened my hold. “Say. The fucking. Words.”
“I h-hear you.” He choked.
“Jesus, what the fuck is your problem?” His friend blurted just as I let go.
“My problem is your lack of respect for the unfortunate people sharing this line with you. Get the fuck out of here or I’ll give you PTSD every time you even think of tacos.”
His friend’s eyes widened before he punched the third guy in the arm, and they all stumbled off, laughter long dead in the air. And then I turned and the remaining line of people erupted into claps. My Kitty Cat was in my arms a second later, fingers drifting along my jawline as she whispered, “I didn’t realize I was going on a date with The Incredible Hulk.”
I shook my head, snaking my arm around her and pulling her close, the warmth of her hot body soothing all of my ragged nerves. “I’m sorry.”
I pressed our lips together in a fierce kiss, wishing I could wipe the last five minutes from both of our minds.
“Don’t be sorry.” Catherine beamed up at me and shrugged. “Idiots have said worse things to me. It usually means that they’re insecure with themselves, so they need to say something to make others feel as shitty as they do. I just turn around and walk the other way. No one’s got time for that.”
“That’s a pretty wise take on it,” I hummed, finding myself falling a little harder for her the more she talked. She was amazing, so smart and graceful, not just a pretty face and gorgeous body.
“Next!” The employee at the window called out, and we stepped up. I placed an order for one of everything on the menu for both of us to share. I wasn’t sure what she’d like and I wanted her to taste everything they had to offer.
“Actually,” she smiled sweetly up to the man taking orders, “can you add two extra carne asadas to that order? They’re my favorite.”
I grinned so fucking big, I swear my heart nearly burst through my chest. “Fuck, you’re hot.”
Her eyes shot to me, cheeks warming to that pretty crimson color I loved too much. “Why?”
“Nothing hotter than a woman who likes to eat.” I clamped down on my bottom lip, ready to say to hell with etiquette and bend her over the picnic table and make this official already.
“He’s got that right.” The man taking our order chuckled. “You haven’t been here before. I’ll give them to you free of charge just for the little show you put on out there.” He nodded to the back of the line. “We’ve been having lots of problems with those men. They come almost every night after they leave the bar. We even threatened to call the police, but they wouldn’t go away.” His grin broadened as he found my Cat’s gaze. “This is how we say thank you. Please come back again, and bring your beautiful wife with you when you come.”
“Oh, no, we’re not–” Cat’s eyes slammed to mine and her cheeks turned a shade of beet red I’d yet to see on her. I hummed out loud. The way the shades had climbed up her chest so quickly made me want to unwrap her like an expensive present and trace my tongue down the path to her navel and to the sweet depths beyond.
