The Love of My Bully

“You know what? You’re a pig. You could have let Ree come in here and party with you. Instead, you treated her like shit.” She walked right back to him, even though she wanted to leave.

She didn’t understand why she didn’t leave him right now. He’d given her an out and yet, here she was, still waiting for more.

He got to his feet. That cocky grin of his was still firmly in place and she wanted to smack him. To stop him from looking so confident.

“You know, you’re starting to sound a little jealous,” he said.

“I’m not jealous. Let’s remember who got who naked here, Drake. Not only that, you were the one who wanted me here. Not the other way around. This isn’t my house. This isn’t my party. Ree didn’t want to get into my pants. She wanted yours and you demanded she bring me.” She slapped a hand to her chest. “So I could say you’re the one who wanted me.”

He didn’t dispute it and as she took a step toward him, she didn’t have the faintest clue what was going on inside her head. This was crazy.

Just turn and leave.

Don’t stick around.

She stepped closer to him, feeling his breath against her face.

“Are you jealous of Sean, Drake? Does he make you nervous?” She didn’t know why she was saying these things. Drake hated Sean. There was no love lost between the two. She didn’t back down, though. Staring him in the eye, she waited for a response.

“That little shit doesn’t make me nervous. He’s scared of his own fucking shadow, Pru. You should really think about who you hang out with. A whore and a coward.”

She went to hit him, but Drake caught her arm, tutting as he did. “Is violence really the answer?”

Prudence hated him so much at that moment. She despised violence. Each time she retaliated to Drake in the past, it always left her sick to her stomach. Even though he was the bully, she loathed stooping down to his level, and she had done that so many times. This year had been different, until this moment.

Still, as she glanced at his lips, remembering the feel of them on hers, she wanted to kiss him.

No, hell no, she didn’t want to do that.

She tried to pull out of his hold but he refused to let her go.

“What’s the matter, Pru? What’s on your mind?”

She gritted her teeth and pulled away from him, determined to not let him win. “Nothing.”

Taking a step back, she had every intention of leaving, only Drake once again stopped her. He grabbed her arm, halting her progress away from him. Her heart raced and once again, her gaze was drawn to his lips. Why was she suddenly so fascinated by his lips? They weren’t that great.

Drake was her first kiss. Before moments ago, she had never kissed a boy. It was somewhat ironic that the guy she hated more than anyone else also happened to be the guy who kissed her.

What she hated even more, she wanted to kiss him again.

No.

This wasn’t going to happen.

She didn’t take a step back. She stayed still, and then she decided to fucking screw it and cupped his face, slamming her lips back down on his, sealing her fate. She kissed him. Not just a small kiss either. A full-blown kiss. When his tongue teased across her lips, she opened to him and moaned as he filled her mouth.

Drake cupped her back, holding her close as he kissed her. Every single part of her was begging to run, asking her to leave.

She couldn’t do it. There was no way she could leave without this kiss. His hands moved down, going to her ass before sliding up to sink inside her hair. He was her enemy. Someone she didn’t want to be near and yet, this kiss was the best thing she’d ever experienced.

She was only seventeen, but this was worth so much more than her pride right now. Drake shouldn’t be kissing her.

Pulling away from the kiss, they both panted. Neither of them said anything. This was a mistake, she knew it. “I’ve got to go.”

This time, she pulled out of his arms with ease, and when she got to the door, she didn’t look back. She didn’t say anything. Opening the door, she knew people were staring at her, but she ignored them all. Ree rushed to her side but she pretended not to notice her friend. Ree wasn’t a friend, not even a little bit. She was only ever after what she could get, and from now on, it wouldn’t be from her.

Leaving the house, she saw Sean hadn’t moved an inch. How long had she been gone?

“You okay?” Sean asked. “You’re shaking.”

“I’m fine.”

“You’re not bleeding or broken. I take it nothing happened.”
