Under the Sheets - Love Under Lockdown
Mark did his best to calm me, including repeating his promises to me. This satisfied me a little bit, enough to be able to nap, in the hope that the sleep would put it out of my mind for a while.
We both thought it was the best trip ever, despite the scare of possibly contracting the coronavirus, and winning the Ozark project was a bonus.
Once we got off the plane, we returned to our homes to drop off our bags and change. We met up at the office later and shared a quick hug before walking in. Mark reassured me that everything will be fine. That we would be in this together, and that no matter what happened, he would always be with me.
I had to smile at him. Something about his confidence always makes me feel more at ease. That’s one of the things I love about him.
Once we got inside the office, we explained to our coworkers that we violated the company rules, but that we are in love. Our story had a strange effect on our colleagues. They seemed to actually be rooting for us. Maybe it’s because we were truly together, as opposed to just messing around like people in the office usually do.
We were both so happy that we hugged each other right there. Everyone cheered and “aww”ed at the sight. Mark and I laughed and blushed.
Our colleagues congratulated us both, and it turned out that we would both be allowed to retain our jobs. I got worried when Mark was called in by his bosses. He returned with the great news that he would be getting a promotion for his work on the Ozark project.
We were both surprised and relieved that things had been so easy. We were not expecting our colleagues to have such a positive reaction. Let alone our bosses. We had been prepared to deal with the worst.
I can still remember how happy we were that we didn’t have to deal with a situation like that and could continue with normal office life. I breathed a sigh of relief that I no longer had to worry.
Mark was true to his word in keeping his promise to me and was prepared to quit or whatever it took to keep me safe. Of course, we were both relieved that he didn’t have to leave his job because of our relationship. That was one of my biggest fears.
The only reservations that I had ever had about us involved our careers. I never had any doubts about my feelings for him. Even if he hadn’t felt the same way, I probably still would have gone through with spending an amazing night with him.
We weren’t due to work that day, so we left the office after our announcement. We still had to unpack, as well as discuss a few things. I had something very important to talk to Mark about.
It involved the seriousness of our relationship and how I thought we should live together so that I wouldn’t have to go back and forth to feed Cocoa and let her out. It was a decision that I had made sometime earlier.
Mark surprised me by getting down on one knee and telling me he had been thinking the same thing except that he wanted to make an honest woman out of me! Not only did he want to live with me, but he wanted to marry me, too.
Several weeks later, we decided to confirm our commitment to each other, in a major way. We eloped back to Chicago where we had a lake-side wedding.
Once we go back, we had a little reception and party with our friends, and Mark’s brother Jim. Even more importantly, I sublet my apartment, and Cocoa and I moved in with Mark. He finally had another beloved dog, just like he used to have in Lady.
We were so happy to finally be completely committed to each other, until death do us part, and living together as husband and wife.
Today, we are like a happy family and have a lot of fun together. We are married and have a daughter named Elizabeth who is two. Her nanny takes great care of her when we work and travel, but I’m always glad to come back home and give her sweet kisses and motherly attention.
We are both quick to agree that the best part of living and working together is that we are able to have sex both at home and at the office, at least when we can manage to get it to ourselves.
What kind of couple wouldn’t benefit from spice like that?
I can honestly say that ours is probably the happiest relationship ever because we spend so much time with each other like that.
Each year on the anniversary of our self-quarantine, we celebrate at a different hotel with wild sex, steamy romance, and, of course, room service. It’s always a very fancy hotel, of course, and we can relive our first nights of me being tied up to a bed with luxurious sheets.
