When I was close to coming, he slowed down, and I mewled and tried to thrust into his hand. He sped up again, only to back off once more. I pleaded with him shamelessly as I bucked and squirmed on his lap, but he took his time building momentum again.

I didn’t know how much more I could take. It felt like my skin was shot through with electricity, and my cock and balls ached with the need for release. My orgasm was just out of reach, building and building. Words tumbled from my lips, begging, pleading. They were soon replaced with moans and wild, primal sounds as I thrashed in his arms.

He took me right to the brink and held me there. It was exquisite and unbelievably intense. My entire body was as taut and quivering as a bow string stretched to its limit, and my breath came in short, quick gasps as my heart pounded in my ears.

Just when I thought I’d lose my mind, he said, “Now, Jasper.”

I threw my head back and yelled as the most powerful orgasm of my life slammed into me like a tidal wave, dragging me under. I shot onto my chest and stomach, writhing, arching up off his lap, grabbing at him unseeingly. It went on and on. I sobbed and bucked my hips, shaking and clawing until it finally started to ebb.

That massive orgasm destroyed me and left me gasping for air as I curled into myself. I couldn’t think, couldn’t see. I was lost for a while, shattered and adrift.

But as I started coming back to myself, I realized Micah was right there, taking care of me. He took off his T-shirt and used it to clean me up. Then he tossed it aside, held me securely, and wrapped us up in the blanket. I was still on his lap, and he spoke to me in a soft, soothing tone, saying things like, “That’s it, baby, just breathe. I’ve got you.”

I looked up at him. He was out of focus, and I blinked a few times. Micah picked up my glasses and slipped them into place, and then he gave me the sweetest smile.

After a while, I managed to form words. My voice was thin and raspy when I whispered, “Are you okay?”

“Sure. Why wouldn’t I be?”

“I think maybe I grabbed you too hard or scratched you. I’m not sure. I was pretty out of control.”

“You were perfect, Jasper. Absolutely perfect.”

I murmured, “You didn’t get to finish.”

“Yes, I did.”

“When?”

“Right after you. As soon as I let go of your cock, I unzipped my jeans and jerked myself off.”

“I can’t believe I was so out of it that I didn’t even notice.” I burrowed into his arms and held onto him. “I don’t usually lose myself like that.”

“Thank you for trusting me enough to let go.”

We stayed like that for a long time. I felt warm and safe, and I really didn’t want to move. Fortunately, Micah seemed to be in no hurry.

My breath caught when a firework went off in the distance. I’d forgotten what day it was.

I whispered, “Happy birthday, Micah.”

He nuzzled my hair and told me, “It’s the best one I’ve had in ages.”

Chapter 3

We stayed on the roof for the entire show. I watched Micah as much as I watched the fireworks. His expression was joyful and totally unguarded, and he seemed so endearingly innocent and childlike. I loved the way his breath caught at the larger fireworks, and the delighted exclamations that slipped from him.

The show ended with a spectacular grand finale. Countless fireworks went off all at once, lighting up the night sky. The pops and booms echoed across the city. Then it fell silent.

In the next instant, cheers and applause rose up all around the neighborhood. There was something magical about that, as if the shared experience had united us with all those strangers.

We added our yells and applause to the chorus. Then everything was quiet again. When I turned to look at him, Micah smiled at me. It was the purest expression of happiness I’d ever seen.

He kissed my shoulder before saying, “Let’s get you inside. It’s getting cold out here.” He was right, although I’d been perfectly warm wrapped in that big blanket with him.

After I got dressed, he left the blanket behind and led the way back up and over the peak of the roof. This direction was a bit easier, because all we had to do was maneuver onto the top of the dormer window and then climb around it. Once again, Micah was right there with me every step of the way, guiding me and keeping me safe. Even so, I was glad it was too dark to look down as we made our way back onto the windowsill.

He shut the window behind us, then turned to me and asked, “Will you please spend the night here?”
