“I want to. I really do, but I’m not sure how.”
“I’ve already told you it’s about love. You know what you need?” The humor in Dylan’s tone was gone. He was back to his serious self. “You need to be trained as a Dom.”
“You sure don’t beat around the bush do you? I’m not sure how that will help me in this situation.”
“You’re being selfish, Chance. Kaylyn is from Destiny. She’s not the one with the issue. You are. Your ego is getting in the way. A good Dom knows and understands the needs of the woman he loves. His wants and needs are second to hers. Always. Guess what? Kaylyn wants you and she also wants Jaris. That’s what will make her life complete. That’s the kind of family she dreamed of when she was young. You want her to be happy?”
“Of course I do, but I’m not sure I’m wired that way.”
“Let me set up some training sessions for you and Jaris. We’ll get your wiring fixed so that you both can have a future with the woman you love.”
Chance took a deep breath. He wasn’t sure becoming a Dom would change his mind about sharing her, but Dylan was right. He was being selfish.
Dylan crossed Highway F and continued onto The Narrows, which led up to the Boys Ranch. “What do you say, Chance? Ready to give BDSM a try?”
“Set it up.” He hoped Dylan was onto something with the training. Maybe it would work, but he still couldn’t imagine continuing to share Kaylyn’s heart with anyone, including Jaris.

Wearing only his jeans, Jaris walked into the kitchen with Sugar. He could smell fresh coffee mingling with Kaylyn’s sweet aroma. “Good, happy, wonderful morning, baby.”
“Good, happy, wonderful morning to you, too.”
He grabbed her and planted a kiss. Her lips tasted so sweet. “Coffee sure smells good.”
“There’s still half a pot. I’ll get you some.”
“I’ve got it. You just stay right where you are. I’ll join you at the table in just a sec.” He walked over to the cabinet where she kept the cups.
“Did you hear Chance leave?”
“I did,” he answered, pouring his coffee.
“What else did you hear with your Vulcan hearing?”
He returned to the table and sat down next to her. “I heard everything, baby. You okay?”
“I guess so, or do you think I’m crazy?” Her voice held more than a hint of anxiety.
“You’re definitely not crazy.”
“Is something still bothering Chance about us?”
“It sounded to me like he might have more questions and concerns.” Jaris wanted to ease her fears. “But don’t worry about that, baby. He’ll come around.”
“I hope you’re right. I just can’t figure this out. I know neither of you are from Destiny, but I know we have something very special. Love is love.”
“Some say love always wins out.”
“That’s what I’ve been taught, but I’ve seen how long it can take for it to work out. Did you know that Phoebe and the Wolfe brothers were apart for three years even though they were in love?”
“I’d heard that.”
“Three years. Crazy. I would die without you and Chance in my life for that long. Hell, for a single day.” She took a deep breath. “Are you really okay with us?”
“Absolutely.” He grabbed her hand, wrapping his around her delicate fingers. “Honestly, I was a little concerned but willing to try. But after last night and the amazing time we had together, it’s what I want, too. Chance may not share my genes, but he is my brother. You are the woman of both our hearts. I’m in love with you and so is he.”
“I know he loves me, Jaris, but is that enough for him? I just don’t know. How do I make him understand?”
