“Baby, it’s no longer just you in this fight. We’re a family.” He knew deep in his heart how true that was. “You. Me. Chance. Family. Together, you and I will help him understand.”
Kaylyn leaned over and put her head on his shoulder. “I pray you’re right about Chance.”
“What time do you have to be onstage today?”
“Not until seven tonight. Why?”
“I have an idea about what we can do to pass the time until we have to leave.”
He wanted to keep her distracted while Chance was away. She had so much she was dealing with. The four missing dogs. Potter’s outburst. Bayless. But especially Chance.
“I’m up for about anything, Jaris. Should I get dressed?”
He heard her lean back in her chair. “Nope. For what I have in mind for you and me, clothes aren’t necessary.” He pulled her in close and pressed his mouth to hers, tracing her lush lips with his tongue. Hunger rolled through him for her. You’re mine, Kaylyn. Mine and Chance’s. “Stand up.”
“Okay.”
He stood, moving in front of her, toe to toe.
“In fact, I want you out of this robe.” He tugged on its tie. “Right now.”
“Yes, Sir.” Her voice shook with apparent excitement.
Standing close to her, he felt the robe fall to the floor. Without hesitation, he cupped her full breasts with his hands.
“May I ask you a question, Jaris?”
Gently kneading her mounds, he answered. “Sure, baby. Ask me anything.”
“You know about Phase Four, right?”
“I do.” The place was the local BDSM club that many Destonians were members of. “What about it?”
She placed her little hands on the sides of his face. “Have you ever been to that kind of club before? Back in Chicago?”
He knew of two clubs like Phase Four in the Windy City, but was sure there were more. “I’m aware of them, but no. I haven’t. Why do you ask? Are you wanting to whip me?”
“Oh no. Not at all. I don’t have a dominant bone in my body when it comes to the bedroom, Jaris.”
He smiled, knowing she was a little nervous about this discussion. Let’s keep her off balance. “Really? I bet you would make a very impressive Dominatrix.”
“Maybe so, but that’s not what I want or need. I have had to be strong to build my dog training school. Did you know I was still a teenager when I got it off the ground?”
He nodded. “Chance told me.”
“Don’t get me wrong, I’m okay being tough and decisive when it comes to my dogs, but what I really need is to give the reins over to someone else at night and trust them with everything. I swear I’m completely opposite than I am at work when I’m making love.”
He ran his hands down her sides, enjoying the feel of her curves. “I know you are, baby. You’re soft and tender. A light in a very dark world. But you also have fire. You like excitement and adventure. That’s just a few of the things I love about you. So just cut to the chase and tell me what you want.” He was already sensing what her answer would be, and that was making his balls grow so very heavy and his cock stir in his jeans.
“I wondered if you would be interested in exploring BDSM with me. You definitely have Dom qualities.”
He grabbed her by the wrists. “I do? Name some of them for me.”
“A Dom knows himself. He accepts his limitations and understands others have their own shortcomings, too. None of that holds him back. He is open to new ideas and people from all walks of life. He’s not a pushover. A Dom’s extreme confidence is sometimes misunderstood as arrogance. He is loyal.”
Jaris was overwhelmed at how she saw him. “And you think I have all those qualities, Kaylyn?”
“Yes, I do. And more.”
