“You got a girl there? Or a harem?” Benny teases. “If I remember right, you always had a line of admirers after you during high school too man. I’m not the only one with luck in that department…”
I smile and nod, but don’t give him any details. He can prod as much as he wants, but my relationship is secret for a reason and it’s a secret worth keeping. I wouldn’t give her up for anything in the world.
The next time I turn to see Benny, it seems his magic has worked again, either that or it’s graduation madness, because he’s locking lips with a blonde girl who I spotted him dancing with earlier. She’s drunk; and has her hands flinging above her head in way girls only seem to do when they are wasted, but she’s having a good time. And thankfully, she’s stopped Benny from asking me more awkward questions. So, now I get to focus on who I came here with.
There. First, I spot Sadie, dancing happily with her boyfriend. I don’t know what I think about Warren really, he has always seemed like a nice enough guy to me, but I don’t know if he’s loyal enough to survive the long-distance thing between them. They will be on opposite sides of the country… not that I would ever say as much to Sadie. She’s the determined type who will stubbornly ignore me if I try to help her.
Right now, she seems happy enough anyway. She’s enjoying the party, so I can’t complain. And since she’s clearly so distracted, I’m looking for someone else to spend some time with. My beautiful girlfriend in that dress that gets me going in ways I can hardly contain myself. I have a feeling that tonight things might progress between us; she has been dropping a lot of hints lately. And while we have managed to do other things in the past, time and space have always been an issue, so this could be the perfect time…
I don’t want to get my hopes up, Jill will always set the pace between us, but there is a thrill that I might finally get to explore her in a brand-new way soon…
My heart stops beating for a moment when I finally spot her. She’s with a group of friends, but on the outskirts, not as involved in the conversation as the rest, and my God, she is stunning. That dress is amazing, it clings to her curves in all the right places and makes my blood run hot. I want her and I would love nothing more than to kiss her in front of everyone to claim her, but I can’t. However, that doesn’t mean that I can’t sneak some time alone with the woman who will one day be my wife.
Yes, I’m sure of it. Jill and I are the real deal, destined to be together forever, and I can’t wait. I know I won’t feel like I have missed out on sowing my wild oats or whatever, because love is better. I am the lucky one who gets to have the best woman ever in my life from now on…
With a cheeky smile playing on my lips, I take giant strides across the farm, avoiding the bonfire, until I’m close enough to Jill for the magnetic pull to drag her eyes towards me. I absolutely love the way that they light up the moment they see me, like they’ve been looking to devour me all night and finally get to feast. I feel exactly the same way. It’s like my life isn’t complete until I catch her beautiful insatiable gaze.
I nod in the direction that I’m walking, indicating for her to slip away for some alone time, then I continue, confident that she’ll be following me. A deep thrilling storm cloud grows inside of me with every passing step, hell, it might as well be a tornado of excitement I am so worked up.
“Hey there, handsome…” A pair of arms circle me from behind, making my heart leap. It feels like it’s in my throat because it’s pounding so hard. “I’ve missed you so much.”
I spin around and envelope her in my arms before kissing her with all the passion that I would have loved to give her before in the middle of the party. But this is just as good. If not better. I love being alone with Jill.
“Oh, you taste lovely, what have you been drinking?” I groan in sheer bliss. “Strawberry something?”
“Strawberry something for sure,” she giggles back. “I don’t know what exactly. Tasted good though.”
Her fingers lace through mine as I rest my forehead on hers to stare into her eyes. For one blissful moment, it feels like we’re a normal couple without any secrecy shrouding us, nothing to worry about in the world, and it’s wonderful. I love this girl so much; more than anything in the world…
