I had fallen.

For Lucas.

For the boy who’d hated me.

Who now said he loved me.

Who used to look at me like I was the reason for his darkness only to find out later that together—we made light.

“Lucas.” I broke the kiss. “What’s going on?”

“Us,” he said simply, pushing me down onto the bed, pulling his shirt over his head and tossing it to the carpet, then tugging down his black joggers and throwing them in the same pile.

He was in nothing but black boxer briefs.

And all I could do was stare.

Was this really happening?

He moved, kneeling on the bed, bracing me against it as his mouth found mine again, his fingers tugging at my tank and throwing it.

“Are we just throwing clothes now?” I asked.

“All the clothes,” he agreed, giving an eager nod, “are going to be gone.”

“Which leaves us…?”

“With us.” He pressed a hand to my chest like he was trying to feel my heartbeat, trying to count how fast it was slamming against his palm and how many times I sucked in a sharp breath at the way his body pinned me against the mattress.

I felt him between my thighs despite the fact that I still had shorts on; I felt him everywhere. In my soul. On my body.

It was almost too much.

I dug into his briefs with my fingertips, knowing that once every barrier was gone, it would be over with.

We wouldn’t come back from this.

And I didn’t want to.

I tugged.

He stilled my eager hands and moved instead to my shorts and underwear. I already wasn’t wearing a bra.

Within seconds, I was naked beneath him.

He was nearly naked on top of me, staring me down like he was going to eat me alive.

I swallowed. “Is this okay?”

His smile was so sexy I almost whimpered. “Probably not.”

“Oh, okay, so—”

“Shhh…” He pressed a finger to my mouth, then replaced it with his kiss again; our lips slid together like our bodies.

The friction was incredible.

I flipped him onto his back and moaned when he gripped my hips and moved me across his cock. Even beneath his briefs, the granite-hard heat seared my skin.

I didn’t even care if we got caught.

He felt so good against me.

So hot, needy, ready.

I threw my head back and moved against him.

He cursed. “I’m not gonna last.”

“Probably not,” I agreed.

He laughed and flipped me over onto my back again, then leaned left, grabbing his pants like he was leaving.

I propped myself up on my elbows, ready to yell at him for getting me too primed only to run out again.

Instead, he dropped his pants and pulled out a condom.

My jaw dropped. “Are you sure?”

“Are you?” His eyebrow arched.

The breath stalled in my lungs. I’d had sex before.

Had he?

I mean, I’d had two partners in my entire life, and both were miserable experiences, typical of being a drunken college student with a one-night stand and a high school boyfriend who was too eager.

“Lucas…” I reached for him. “Are you sure?”

“Yes.” We locked gazes. “It’s you. It’s always been you, Grace. Who else would I give everything to, besides you?”

I couldn’t speak as he tore open the condom with his teeth and pulled down his briefs, and dear God, I really had no words after that.

Nothing that would do justice to what was about to happen.

He slid the condom on, and I watched like a complete idiot as he performed an almost show for me.

This would be over too soon.

I was sad.

Sad, because I wanted more moments than just this with him.

“Grace.” He knelt on the bed again, hovering over me, his red hair falling softly against his forehead. “Don’t forget me.”

“How could I?” I tugged his head down toward me, kissing him with everything I had, our tongues fought with each other for dominance as he settled his body against mine, between my thighs, pressing exactly where I wanted him.

I gasped as his mouth moved down my neck, my shoulders. I raked my nails down his back as he drove into me in one smooth thrust that had my head hitting the wall behind me.

“Okay?” He looked up at me.

I could only nod, tears in my eyes at the pressure of him between my thighs, of the way he owned me without even knowing it.

His hips moved.

“Yes.” I wrapped a leg around him. “Yes.”

He sank completely in. His eyes were wild when he looked down at me like he’d had no clue it would be like this. “Grace… I have to tell you—”

“No.” I moved in sync with him. “Not now, Lucas. Tell me later.”

Tears formed in his eyes as he eased back then thrust into me. “Okay, Grace. Okay.”

He cupped my face, kissing me as I met each movement, each roll of his hips. Everything was almost too much to feel as our bodies slid against one another.
