Spark - Page 18

We ate in silence until I hightailed it to the bathroom to take a shower. I took my time going over and over in my head what he’d said. I don’t get it. Him kissing me. Saying the things he has. Did he mean it when he said he wouldn’t open the shop next door? Hope lights up in my chest for so many possibilities. That maybe I could actually win this fight. That I could get what I want and maybe something more than I even knew was possible.

“I prefer you protesting me rather than silence.” I turn to look back at him. I give him my favorite apron. Not because I am trying to be sweet but because it is pink with little kittens on it and says Kiss the cook. I was so sure he would tell me no but he put it on. He even turned and asked me to tie it for him. Now he looks both handsome and adorable at the same time. I’m never going to be able to resist him if he keeps this up.

I really want to kiss the cook. I’ve wanted to kiss him since he told me he was going to make me fall in love with him. Why he wants that is beyond me. Every time I begin to try to figure it out my head starts to spin and I’m a cat chasing my tail. He shouldn’t like me. I’ve done everything in my power to annoy him. Still he keeps on looking at me like I’m the cutest, sweetest thing he’s ever seen. Women should be crawling all over him. He isn’t just rich and handsome, he is sweet too. Too sweet. Something has to be wrong with him.

“I’m working!” I snap at him. I try and give him a hard look.

“You want a kiss, babe, just ask.” His voice is soft. Like someone soothing an angry kitten. My eyes flick from his mouth where I was staring. Why hasn’t he kissed me again? Who kisses someone like he did last night, tells them he’s going to make them fall in love with him and then doesn’t kiss them again? He’s crazy. That’s what it is. It’s why he’s single.

“You’re crazy!” I tell him with a huff, pretending I don’t want a kiss. I’m up off my feet before I know it.

“Maybe,” he agrees before he finally kisses me, his mouth meeting mine. It’s a perfect fit. I moan, opening my mouth for him. His tongue slides past my lips like he’s done it a thousand times before. The taste of chocolate chips and Jax fills my mouth. He’s as yummy as I remember. I don’t care if he’s crazy. This feels good. Who am I to judge his sanity? I’ve been making signs and having a one-person protest. I’m obviously not in my right mind either. We might as well be insane together. If you can’t beat them, join them.

I cling to him. His hands go to my ass. I feel my back meet something but I don’t care what it is. Right now all I feel is him as he presses his cock into my sex. I moan as I try and rub against him. Enjoying the feel of his body against mine.

“You need more than a kiss?” he asks when he pulls his mouth from mine. I shake my head yes as his lips move down my neck. I’ve never been so happy to have picked a v-neck shirt. I was trying to pretend I didn’t care when I got dressed, grabbing any shirt to pair with my yoga pants. Okay, maybe I snuck in a little mascara too. My only plans had been to bake. I figured Jax would grow bored and leave. I planned to get my head together at that point but it never happened.

His mouth dips lower as he sets me down onto something. His hands start to roam my body. I spread my legs wide to give him all the room he needs. Letting him know that I want this as much as he does. Hoping that all of the words he said to me are true but knowing in my heart that they are.

“Gotta say it,” he says against my skin.

“I need—“ I trail off as his hand slips under my shirt. He yanks my bra out of his way aggressively but when his hand meets my breast it’s soft and tender.

“What do you need?” His tongue runs up my neck to my ear as he gives one of my nipples a pull. Wetness pools between my thighs, making my panties stick to me.

“You,” I admit with a gasp when his other hand easily dips into my pants. My hips try and lift, needing his touch so badly my whole body aches for it.
