The Nanny and the Playboy

Mystery woman. Nanny or more?

There were a couple of details about Temperance there, and he gritted his teeth. The porn star roommate had been mentioned, along with a few other facts, including her parents’ deaths, and even a high school picture of her.

“How the fuck do they get this shit?” he asked.

“So, are you fucking the nanny?”

James finished the sentence as Temperance turned up. Wayne watched as she tensed up, but didn’t say anything. “Would you like me to do more for breakfast?”

Every single part of Temperance screamed “well fucked.” Her hair was wild, but it was always like that. The jeans she wore molded to her curves. The shirt wasn’t one of the large ones, but actually accentuated her fuller figure. Her lips were swollen from his kisses, and her cheeks were pink.

“I’ll have some pancakes, darling.”

Her gaze caught the magazine, and he watched as she bit her lip. She didn’t say a word, though; instead she nodded her head and left.

“You were very rude,” James said.

“What?”

“You didn’t even tell me her name.”

“Her name’s Temperance. You know that.”

“Yeah, but she doesn’t know my name. By not even offering an introduction, you’ve put her straight into being part of the help, an employee.”

Wayne rubbed at his eyes. He wasn’t in the mood to deal with that right now. The picture on the front of that magazine was what he had to deal with, keeping Timothy out of the newspapers, and any kind of story they wanted to run.

Some of his associates wouldn’t be too happy with someone who was trying to get rid of a kid that wasn’t even his own. It was all about image, and he’d wanted to keep Timothy out of the papers and the media. There could always be speculation, but this went beyond that. This was proof.

“I figured you’d be all over this. I’m going to head out. You’ve got enough on your case.” James left without even looking back, and Wayne … he was pissed.

Every woman loves a billionaire, right? Well you don’t get much wealthier than Wayne Myers. Playboy, billionaire, businessman, and soon to be daddy? No one knows much about the change in the man’s life, but we do know a little about the mystery woman next to him. Not much of a mystery really. Temperance Michaels is known for being the nanny to the rich and famous, and now it seems she wants a piece of the pie for herself.

The article sounded catty, cruel, and they’d even brought in her roommate, Lilah, as well.

Entering his office, he got Frances on the phone and made calls to the head of the magazine to retract its story, or at the very least change it.

Two hours had passed, and when he entered the kitchen, the place was clean and the oven on, keeping his pancakes warm.

Timothy was at the table, and Temperance left him to draw, heading toward Wayne.

She was biting her lip.

Reality had burst through the bubble he’d been trying to create.

“Did you see the magazine?” he asked.

“I checked the story on the internet. They sure know how to make a woman sound gold-diggerish. I’m very possessive, it seems. Twelve years I’ve been a nanny, and other than being in the background, no story has ever come around to me.”

“I’m sorry.”

“I had no idea someone was at the park. The pictures show us talking, you pushing Timothy, and then our little picnic.” She ran fingers through her hair. “I didn’t put us there to be photographed if that’s what you’re thinking.”

“I don’t think that. I’m not a complete asshole.”

She held her hands up. “Sorry to jump to conclusions and being so negative.”

He wrapped his arm around her waist, pulling her close. “You’ve proven to me time and again you’re not here for anything else other than the pleasure of my dick.”

“One night and you’re already getting way ahead of yourself.”

“It’s the start of several. Admit it, I rocked your world.”

She rolled her eyes. “Do everything you can to protect Timothy.”

“I will. I’ll do what I can to protect you as well.”

“I can handle the stories. I’ve got nothing to hide. He’s young and shouldn’t be exposed to this.”

“All right.”

He pulled her in for a kiss when his cell phone began to ring. “I’ll go and take this.”

“All right.”

She patted his chest and went back to Timothy at the table.

Frances was on the line, and he answered her. “Give me good news.”

“The magazine wants an exclusive about the boy.”

“Not going to happen.”

“That’s what I said you’d say, and they are threatening to do an exposé on the girl’s roommate. They’re reaching.”

He rubbed at his eyes, not really interested in the roommate at all. He didn’t even have a clue who the woman was, and he certainly wasn’t interested in doing a Google search. “They can print whatever the hell they want about me. Tell them I’ll give them an exclusive on something, but keep Timothy and Temperance out of the media. Anything. Throw money at them if you have to.”
