Perfect Strangers - Page 6

“Hell no! I love it, all these hot women passing their numbers my way, it’s what I live for.”

“Yes, but come on man. These women are only interested in one thing, our bodies. I’m yet to meet one that’s interested in this,” he stated glumly, pointing his finger to his head.

Rhys laughed and patted Kai’s shoulder. “Dude, guys would kill to work here, you’ve seen how many applicants land on your desk when an opening becomes available.”

“Hey, Kai. What are you doing after your shift tonight? I’m at a loose end,” purred a buxom blonde leaning over the bar towards him.

Rhys sighed and rolled his eyes. “See what I mean, women throw themselves at us.”

Leaning over the bar towards the blonde, Kai smiled. “Hey Kat, you here to drink your body weight again? Because I’m not carrying you home tonight.”

Pinching his cheek, she widened her smile. “The only weight I’m interested in tonight handsome, is your body weight on mine.”

“You want your usual?” He asked slamming his palms on the bar top and moving away from her.

“Sure thing, kitten,” she purred. Laughing he moved away to fix her a ‘sex on the beach’.

While he made her drink, her greedy eyes raked over his bare torso. Finally pouring it out into the ice- rimmed glass, he smiled, added a paper umbrella, and slid it in her direction. “There you go, Kitty Kat. One ‘sex on the beach’. On me, of course.”

“And when will you make that fantasy a reality, Kai?” She asked grabbing his hand and fluttering her eyelashes.

“With you, Kat? Never.” He winked at her and sharply pulled away his hand.

“Rhys, I’m out of here. I’ll see you tomorrow.” Kai said as he made his way towards the till’s and started removing all the takings.

r /> “Already? The night is still young, Kai.”

“I’ve stuff to do and places to be.” Kai laughed and emptied the last of the takings, pushing the till receipts into the bags.

With raised eyebrows, he turned to look at Kai. “Really? Does it involve a woman?”

“It involves four men actually, a few beers and the highlights of the Man United game, if you must know,” laughed Kai.

“Sure, dude. See you tomorrow.” Rhys smiled standing to attention, and saluting him, causing Kai to react, and salute him back- with his middle finger.

Reaching the sports bar, Kai scanned the heads of the popular joint, when an angry hand waving frantically in his direction, caught his eye. “Great. Josh is here.” He muttered as he pushed through the busy bar towards the direction of Josh’s scowl.

“You made it then, Kai? Managed to drag yourself away from those randy housewives?” Josh asked, sarcasm dripping with each word.

“It was a mean feat, Josh, but I managed it. I’m here aren’t I?” He challenged as he took up the vacant seat opposite him and snatched his beer from the table. Josh watched open- mouthed when Kai downed the pint in seconds before slamming it down on to the table and wiped his mouth on the back of his arm. “Aaaaah. I needed that.” Kai gasped with a smirk.

“Let’s do some shots and chasers,” piped up Brody, from the far end of the table.

Digging out his wallet, Kai chucked thirty pounds in the middle of the table and the rest of them followed suit. “Open a tab, tell the little stunner with the pink pout and the pert tits behind the bar to keep the drinks flowing,” Josh ordered Brody as he scooped up the money and made his way towards the bar.

“You know, Josh, that’s someone’s daughter your foul mouth is talking about. The woman has a name,” Kai retorted annoyed at his friends’ attitude.

“Chill the fuck out, Kai. Women talk derogatorily about men all the time, what is this, cave man times?” Josh snapped, rolling his eyes and puffing out his cheeks.

“I’m merely stating that the woman has a name, it’s Ashley. Please use it when you talk about her,” Kai replied, and fixed a steely glare in Josh’s direction.

“And then you wonder why you’re still single, Kai? You are too much of a gentleman, it turns women off.” Josh laughed, and turned his attention towards the last guy in their party of four.

“How’s married life, Ben? I bet it’s great having all that sex on tap.” Josh smirked, causing Kai to switch off.

To him Josh was a douche who did nothing but put women down, but to Kai’s amazement he was always in a relationship. They never lasted more than a few months at a time, but it was longer than Kai could keep one going. He would turn up all hearts and flowers, take them on dates to fancy places, pay them compliments, open doors and pull out seats for them. Eventually one thing would lead to another and before he knew it, that would be all they were interested in. His body and him in between their sheets.
