His Curvy Architect

RHETT
Sitting in my office, the bottom of my heel repeatedly tapped against the ground. I was never the patient type. Even with the paperwork in front of me, it wasn’t enough to keep me distracted. I couldn’t stop thinking about her. That woman I hired. She told me that she would be here in a few days to bring me some sort of design and it had already been four days. How long did she plan on making me wait?
I wanted to see her. The moment I first saw her, she rocked my world. My tapping increased as I continue to think about it. It was nearly impossible to focus on the work in front of me, no matter its importance. At first, I tried not to let her time away bother me, but that went out the window only a day after she had been gone. Now that I had waited all of this time, I couldn’t escape her appearance that had burned its way in my mind.
I wanted to see her. No, I needed so much more than that.
The moment I saw her sitting on that bench, my mind was made up. I was going to make her mine.
I couldn’t remember the last time a woman had shook me so roughly, especially when she had yet to actually do anything. My heart was locked away, the thought of love was just a waste of time. I wanted to put all of my focus on this restaurant alone, I didn’t have time to make another person happy. But once Evelyn made her appearance, any thought of that disappeared. I was ready to give her whatever she wanted the moment she asked. Whatever usual mental argument that I would have to deter me from this kind of distraction, became nonexistent.
Even now, just thinking about her cute, round face left the craving within me grow stronger. I wanted to know what it felt like to have those plump lips pressed against my own. How did she taste? I doubt anything I could even attempt to prepare in my kitchen could have a taste that could come close to compare.
If she had agreed to my offer on talking in my office, I might have gotten the chance to find out. I wasn’t sure I would be able to hold myself back once we found ourselves alone. How much longer did she intend on torturing me by making me wait? Even just seeing her alone would help satisfy this hunger I had growing in my gut.
Deciding to try to get something done today, I stared down at the paperwork littering my desk. I was behind in more than I cared to admit. I would rather be out in the kitchen making food instead of doing all of the boring stuff that came along with running a restaurant. Knowing that this part was just as important, I rubbed my temple to subdue the growing headache. If I didn’t start now, I wasn’t sure when I would be finished. I had to be done by the time the dinner rush would be hitting the restaurant.
As I began working, I could barely pick up my pen before a collection of rapid knocks hit against my door. I frowned.
My employees knew better than to bother me during this kind of time. Apparently I hadn’t made myself clear enough. Feeling agitated more than usual, I stood up for my desk. Keeping the curses on my tongue, I made my way over to the door. Prepare to give whatever type of tongue lashing was necessary, I grabbed the handle and yanked it open.
“This better be–” the words on my tongue died away the moment my eyes met a pair of warm, honey colored ones. While I probably looked like some sort of madman, Evelyn was looking back at me like a deer caught in headlights.
Just like the first time I saw her, she was looking like she did not belong in this establishment. Unlike my own fitted appearance, she was wearing a sundress that hugged her curves in ways that were perfect. It left little to my imagination as I fought the temptation to reach forward and let my fingers explore her shape even more thoroughly. Even with the loud noises surrounding us from the kitchen being run, all I could do was focus on her.
“Is this a bad time? I’m not interrupting anything, am I?” she asked me, her voice hesitant slightly. I noticed a rolled up poster underneath her arm along with a large tote bag glued to her hip. The host brought her back here per my instruction for whenever she did decide to show up. I refused to allow her to wait around like the last time. He wasn’t with her, she was all alone. All for myself.
I still managed to be caught off guard. Noticing a few glances our way, I quickly demanded my staff to get back to work before ushering her inside of my office. Clearing my throat, I claimed my seat once more and pushed my paperwork to the side. Even if it meant staying here late in the night to finish this, it would be worth giving her my time of the day. “I was wondering when you would come back, what have you brought for me Evelyn?” Watching her carefully, I noticed her bite her lip as her face grew a shade darker. The sight alone was enough to form a growing motion at the bottom of my stomach.
“I have drawn up the perfect design.” She explained with confidence as she approached me. Setting her bag down, she took the poster under her arm and unrolled it, setting it down on my desk. Leaning over me from behind, she laid her palms flat against my desk to keep the poster from curling. My fingers curled around the arms of my chair and my knuckles grew white.
Fuck, she smelled mouth watering. At this point, I couldn’t even tell if it was something that she put on. I struggled just to breathe normally around her. What was wrong with me? Even as her arm brushed against mine occasionally, it felt like an electric shock every single time. Did she realize what she was doing to me? Forcing my eyes away from her, I looked down at her design.
For only a moment, the trance I found myself under faltered. It was a drawing of a highly detailed patio. Remembering that I told her that I didn’t think that this was a good idea, I struggled to tell her that I didn’t want this design. I could tell how much work she had put in. Though, I didn’t think that something like this would actually bring in any more customers. Seeing that I was already limited on funds to spend on this project, I was already risking it if her idea didn’t work. “I’m not so sure…” I started up, hesitant. Turning to look at her, I didn’t realize how close she was.
Her face was right next to mine, her eyes were warm and I was getting more lost the longer I found myself looking into them. With the way she smelled and how close she was, my head felt fuzzy. The craving I had for her was growing stronger by the second.
