“I heard Jason ask what the hell a Cinderella was. That’s all it took for me to know that you were here.” Mason was right in front of me and smiling, just his face alone left butterflies fluttering around in my stomach. “You really showed up,” he sounded surprised, confusing me.
“I wanted to see you,” I confessed to him as I took the drink. It was a drink he made only for me. “I hope I’m not distracting you from everyone else. It seems pretty busy.”
His chuckle sent goosebumps up my arms. “They can wait,” he said nonchalantly as he watched me take my first step. He then cleared his throat, “You look stunning by the way.”
I could barely enjoy the tropical taste before his compliment sent my face ablaze. While I had dressed up for him, just hearing him approve made it hard not to smile. “This tastes amazing.”
He then smirked, “I’ve had much better.” It might have just been my imagination, but something told me that he wasn’t referring to another drink.
I was getting the attention I was not used to. “Let me enjoy my drink and you go tend to the others. If you slow down, then we can flirt.” I brushed him off, hoping to calm down. He had just been here for only a minute and I was already reacting to each of his gestures. If I wanted to be able to think straight, I needed to cool down first.
He seemed disappointed for a moment but nodded, “You’re right. Just hard not to get distracted by you,” he groaned before pulling away. “If you want another one of those, just ask for me,” he instructed before having to step away.
Drinking my cups one at a time, I found myself drinking them down quicker each time just so I could get an opportunity to see him every now and then. Unlike the first time we hooked up, I was smart and came here much later in the night. I could deal with sitting here for a couple of hours if it meant that I could spend the rest of the night with him.
