“It’s not a problem. I just figured I’d put it out there. You never know unless you try.”

“True!” I was being obnoxiously cheery now.

“All right, well thanks again for the coffee. Maybe I’ll see you around some time.”

“Maybe!”

“If you change your mind, Derek has my number.”

I nodded like a bobble head and started wiping the already-clean counter.

“Bye, Sara.”

“Bye, Lucas.”

I watched him leave the shop, and then blew out a breath, relieved that it was finished.

“Well he’s a little much.”

I startled at Landry’s voice, but then erupted into a fit of giggles.

“I thought it was just me.”
