Breaking Her (Savage Brothers Second Generation 4) - Page 58

I hope Dom manages to finally see the woman who has been waiting for him to notice her for more years than the fucker deserves.

Chapter 35

Lyla

“Where did you go?”

I yawn and curl into Thomas’s warm—and very naked—body as he gets back in bed. I drape a leg over him, smiling when I feel that his cock is already semi-aroused. I’m not sure how it’s possible that he’s always ready to go—but I’m thankful. I kiss his chest as I settle in the crook of his arm and his fingers begin gently caressing my thigh. This is heaven. It’s what I always dreamed of—what I always wanted. I remember leaving Thomas’s apartment after finding out about Gabby. I thought that was the death of everything, because I knew in my heart that all I ever wanted was Thomas’s love. Having him back in his arms, secure that he wants me here, is a gift. It’s a miracle that I didn’t expect. I can’t explain how it makes me feel. I just know that for the rest of my life if I have this then, I am the most blessed woman in the world.

“T-talked to Dom.”

I tense a little and lift up so that I can see his face. “Are you okay?”

His lips twitch, and he brings his other hand up to stroke a finger against my cheek. “Always w-w-worried about me,” he murmurs.

“I love you,” I respond, figuring that is self-explanatory.

“And you n-never fail to sh-sh-show me. Even when I d-d-didn’t d-d-deserve it.”

“Thomas…”

He holds my neck and bends down to kiss my forehead, then lightly kisses my closed eyes. There’s so much love coming from him right now that it literally wraps around me and cocoons me. I’ve never felt safer in my life than I do right now.

“You c-c-could have done so m-m-much better than a m-m-man who c-c-can’t talk and spent his life l-l-living in the sh-sh-shadows.”

I look at him then, my heart contracting almost to the point of physical pain. “There is no better than you, Thomas. I’ve always known that, even when I left you that day in the apartment. That’s what hurt so much because I knew you were all I wanted.”

“Babe—”

“And you didn’t live in the shadows. That’s silly. That night you looked at me, there was so much life and depth that poured out of your eyes that my whole world tilted on its axis.”

He shakes his head to disagree with me, but he has a smile still firmly in place. He kisses my lips this time, though it’s just a touching caress. It feels sweet and warms me. “I lived in shadows, babe.”

“Thomas—”

“Until you c-came with your smile, g-g-golden hair, and gave me warmth. My S-s-sunflower.”

I feel tears stinging my eyes and I try to hold them back, but I figure my face is close enough that Thomas can see them.

“See? You talk perfectly. Everything you say has meaning and you never fail to sweep me off my feet. There is no better, Thomas. You’re everything.”

This time he closes his eyes and I don’t think. I slide my hand along his beautiful face and kiss his eyelids, down his jawline and finally go to his lips. “I love you,” I breathe against them. He kisses me then, the emotion of the moment filling the entire room.

This is it. The moment when Thomas Kane West gave me every silly romantic dream I ever had and never thought I would get.

I settle back against him and smile when he kisses the top of my head. There’s so much depth to my man. I wasn’t lying to him. He is everything to me.

We lie in silence for a bit and because I’m genuinely curious, I ask, “What did you and Dom talk about?”

“He w-wants me to come back to the club here. He a-p-p-pologized. Said he m-m-missed me.”

“I see,” I murmur.

“Lyla—”

“I know I said I wouldn’t, but things are different now, Thomas. If you want to move to Kentucky, I’ll move.”

“Babe—”

“I’ll move for you.”

“Stop, S-s-sunflower. Virginia is home for me now. I’m happy there.”

“But the club…”

“I’m m-making a p-place for myself in your dad’s. If he d-d-d-doesn’t want me there. Then, I’m a d-d-damn good m-m-mechanic. The three of us will be fine.”

I tilt my head back to look at him. “You mean that?”

“Abso-l-lutely.”

“How do you think your dad will react?”

“Think he already knows, S-sunflower. You c-come first. You and our b-baby.”

I rub my belly. “Kane will be one blessed baby,” I giggle.

“We’re not n-naming our baby Kane, S-sunflower.”

“We’ll talk about it. I’m open to negotiations, Thomas.”

“I l-like that. Let me show you how I n-n-negotiate,” he purrs.

He moves so I’m flat on the mattress and he’s grinning down at me, positioning himself over my body. My hand wraps around his cock and I giggle.

“I do love a hard negotiator,” I tease as I move the head of his cock against my entrance.
