I take the seat and log into the system. I find the email, click on the reply box and unveil the recipient address using the software Dominic used.
“Here goes.”
I start typing:
Eric,
This is Aiden Romanov. I’m with Massimo D’Agostino and his brother.
We are the reformned Syndicate with Massimo as our leader. We have come to rescue you.
Your mother is in my care, but Jude has taken your sister.
He has my son.
I need you to take disable your firewalls and security system so we can get in.
We have an army of one fifty.
Please responds as a matter of urgency.
Aiden.
This is the last ace up my sleeve. If it doesn’t work I don’t what will. Everything else we have is uncertain.
We wait eagerly, anxiety cutting me up like sharp knives.
My nerves spike when a beeping sound fills the room.
We look around to the other computer Dominic has set up with his tracking device and I could fucking cry when the image of the facily comes on the screen.
“That’s my device. It’s working,” Dominic says rushing over to it. “I’m in the security system, I can see everything. The firewalls are down.”
An reply to my email then comes through and beeps.
It’s him:
Eric Markov here.
All firewalls are down.
Leave it to me.
I’ll clear the way so you can come in.
I type back:
We’re on our way.
