The Chase

“Yeah. While she and Hammer were strictly platonic, she climbed into his bed one night and tried to seduce him with a blow job. He refused her.”
“He didn’t want her? She must have been crushed.”
Beck snorted. “Macen was desperate for Raine—and she knew it. So when Hammer disappeared into the bathroom to, um…take matters in hand, Raine didn’t get mad; she got even—by masturbating on his bed in front of him.”
Heavenly’s jaw dropped. “Seriously?”
“Yeah. Hammer threw her out of his room, but that didn’t faze Raine. She tore through the dungeon, cussing a blue streak, and heaved dildos at him.”
“Big purple ones, if I remember the story right.” Seth chuckled.
“Raine?” Heavenly gaped. “Sweet, loving Raine?”
“That little shit stirrer has you fooled,” Beck scoffed, then turned to Seth. “You should have seen the ‘Fuck You Very Much’ panties she wore just for Hammer at her punishment.”
“Liam told me about those.” Seth laughed, then regarded Heavenly with a raised brow. “So keep in mind that your bestie is no saint. What she tells you will probably get your ass spanked…like today. Besides, we’d rather you be you.”
The two men shared a knowing glance Heavenly couldn’t quite decipher. Something was up with them…
“What’s going on?” she demanded. “What do you two have up your sleeves?”
“We want to talk about a couple of things,” Seth answered.
Anxiety fluttered in her belly. “Okay.”
Would they press her to commit now? Or tell her it wasn’t working and ask her to go? Both possibilities worried her equally—and that confused her more.
“How would you feel about getting on the pill for us, angel?” Seth asked, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.
As much as she wanted children—loved the idea of a big family—now was hardly the time. “I think I should.”
Beside her, Beck tensed. “Do you want kids someday?”
She turned to him. His perfectly blank expression made her frown. Something was bothering him.
“I do.” They would make beautiful babies. She could almost feel a tiny, warm infant in her arms, gazing up at her with shimmering eyes—either green or brown—full of love and trust as he or she happily cooed. Heavenly swallowed a lump of longing. “But not until I’m sure about my future…”
Seth nodded, face tight. “That’s one reason we wanted to talk about birth control.”
“What about you?” She didn’t understand the odd undercurrent between them. “Do you want kids someday?”
“Can’t wait, actually,” Beck said. “But for now, you know both Miranda Chapman and Daniel Fulbright are ob-gyns with stellar reputations.”
She nodded. “I’ve chatted with Miranda around the hospital a couple of times. She seems nice.”
“I can set you up an appointment with her if you’d like.”
“Sure.” She tried to not feel niggling regret or the guilty concern that she was somehow disappointing Beck. “Thanks.”
“You’re welcome.” He brushed a kiss over her lips.
As soon as the doctor lifted his head, Seth moved in with a feather-soft kiss. “We also wanted to talk to you about your spring break.”
“While we wouldn’t be opposed to spending the next six days in bed—with you tied to it, dragging one orgasm after another from you…” Beck’s smile was devilish.
Honestly, she wouldn’t be opposed, either.
“We thought you might want to explore the area, since we all have some time off,” Seth finished.
