“Baron, you want to help me out with this?” I sort of shift my head toward her. He looks up from his phone and sees what’s happening. Immediately he pulls her onto his lap and kisses her until she stops crying. I swear these two don’t care where they are or with whom. I sit as the waitress comes to the table.
“Ma’am, would you like a drink?” I am about to answer when the voice of Thor booms behind me. The hairs on the back of my neck start to tingle, along with every part of my body that begins to moan, and I am sure the sound leaves my mouth as well.
“She will take a peach Moscato and I will have a gin gimlet,” he says as he pulls out his chair. I would know that voice of his anywhere. It is so fucked up when a short meeting with someone can be the only thing that matters.
I swallow the spit building in my mouth, as I try to keep my wits about me. The need to close my eyes for a minute to try and keep me from begging him to fuck me on top of the table. He bends down to sit, and I feel him lean over and sniff me, before whispering in my ear.
“Fucking lilies and honey. I knew you would smell good.” Oh fuck. I think I just came. Great. This is going to be a wet night. Hopefully, it ends with my wetness all over him. Or his over me. I’m not picky. Yummm.Chapter FiveDukeTo think I almost missed this. Almost missed her. That is something that will never do. Of course, Mr. Shallowford would make me late on the night of the most important date of my life. As CFO, I don’t typically deal directly with clients of Roades Information Systems, but occasionally they need assistance with financially related security issues within their company. That’s where I come in. A few clicks of my mouse and I had it all figured out.
Mr. Shallowford runs a Fortune 500 company that sells all manner of things people don’t really need but buy anyway. I located what appeared to be an accounting error, but then I was able to determine that it is embezzlement. I even figured out which terminal the information was stolen from, thereby finding the culprit. It was exciting. Then the cops got involved and that shit took forever to sort out. I was only able to get the fuck out of there ten minutes ago. Luckily, Venducci’s isn’t that far from the office. I practically ran and got here just as she’s about to order.
After ordering drinks for the both of us, I pull my chair out and lean down to her level and breath in her scent. I can’t help whispering in her ear as I do so. She smells amazing and it makes my mouth water.
She looks fucking gorgeous in the tiny bandaid dress she’s wearing. With the outfit she is wearing, she looks like a damn present on Christmas morning. Wrapped up just for me. I hate that the wrapping covers no more than a postage stamp and other men can see what’s mine. Their eyes are getting to feast on her delectable curves and smooth pale skin. She has fiery red hair, which brings out the emerald color of her eyes. I swear to God that I could get lost in them.
My eyes are seeing through red looking at her, because she didn’t know she was meeting me here tonight. I checked with Baron and yet she still dressed like this. Things like that can drive a man insane when you are thinking about who she is dressing for. Delarosa found no evidence of a lover, but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t have one. Especially after those goddamn pictures from this afternoon.
“How was everyone’s day?” Frannie asks when no one says anything for a while. I can’t stop staring at her.
“Excellent,” Baron says, going back to his phone. Frannie rolls her eyes at him, before taking the phone from his hands and putting it in her purse. I burst into laughter at the outraged look on Baron's face.
“Duke?” Frannie asks, sticking her tongue out at her husband. He leans forward and kisses her. Fuck, I hate how much I envy them.
“Grueling,” I reply, looking back to Esther who is looking at Baron and Frannie with just as much envy as I feel.
“Esther?” Frannie asks when she doesn’t respond. “Earth to Esther!” Frannie snaps her fingers in her face to get her attention, but not even that works. Finally, she shakes her shoulder and that seems to do the trick. I am struggling to hold back my laughter. I’d like to think that I’ve distracted Esther to the point where she can’t remember her own name.
