She moves closer, her hands smooth and soft as she cups my face. A million emotions tumble and turn inside me. Exhilaration, dread, fear. And hope, fucking hope, feather-like and floating. As she swallows tightly, I find my hands tight on her hips as I ground myself to her.

“You made me see before. And I thought I could help you this time. That I could show you your worth in this world. I think it’s about time.” She tips up on her toes, her eyes soft and watery, her breath a sweet wisp across my face.

“Don’t do this, Fee. Not unless you mean it.” My hands manacle her wrists, my need for this to be true as grasping and rough as I feel.

“You mean, don’t kiss you?” Her words ghost my lips, my chin. Press where my pulse is hammering. Make me groan and convulse as she sucks over the vein.

“Not if you don’t mean it,” I rasp, her wrist still in my hands. “I’d do anything for you, but I don’t think I could take you leaving again.”

Her head pulls back, her eyes reflect the truth in my words, and in her lips is the want in my fingertips. “Kiss me, Carson. Kiss me back.” Our hands are caught between us as she flattens herself against me, her parted lips more a prelude than a real kiss. I tilt my head, closing the tiny space between us but it’s her lips that close the deal. Her fingers clasped to the nape of my neck, she sucks my lower lip between hers.

“Touch me.” Breath tight, she brings my hand to her breast. “I need you so badly, I ache.”

I half groan at the lush press of her breast, and she joins me in the sound as my thumb swipes her hardened nipple. Our kiss becomes deeper, wetter, tongues tangling as fingers grasp.

“Make me your sweet girl.” Her words are little more than an exhale against my neck.

“I’ve dreamed of you saying that.” His voice is hoarse and full of the unsaid as I clasp and knead, my free hand sliding around to her ass, pulling her tight against me.

“Oh!”

“Every damned night you were there, with me. In my bed, giving yourself to me.”

“I want that.” Her hand plucks my shirt from my pants, her fingers searing my skin.

“No hesitation, all heart.”

“Yes. Oh, Carson, I love you.”

The tenuous hold I had on myself snaps like a bow string, a surge of something enormous washing though me like a tidal wave, consuming me. With a groan or a growl, or whatever the fuck that sound was, I grab the hem of her tight dress, pulling it up and over her thighs. Then she’s in my arms, her legs clasped around me, her intimate heat burning through the cotton of my shirt.

“Say that again,” I demand, raining kisses against her cheeks, her lips, her neck.

“No hesitation. All heart, Carson Hayes, I love you.”

“Thank the Lord. Fucking yes.”

I’ve changed my mind. Hope is a thing with wings. Wings like an angel, and blonde hair, and legs that I’d be happy to die between as I swallow her tight little moans and slide my tongue into her mouth. She tastes so sweet and warm, and the heat of her pussy pressed against me is fucking unreal. I want to lift her up onto my shoulders to fuck her with my tongue.

“So much for taking the edge off.” Her words are a shaky breath in my ear, the sensation rippling down my spine. I carry her over to the side of the bed, pressing her to the mattress, my body following hers.

“I need you naked,” I rasp, running my hands down her sides, making her gasp a little when I get side-tracked. “Jesus, angel, your panties are soaked through.” I cup her, squeeze, and she rocks against me a little wild and unrestrained.

“Because I’ve missed you.”

“Yeah?” I drag the word out as I press my thumb against the tight knot of her clit. “So you were thinking about me when you touched yourself.”

Something in my tone makes her push up onto her elbows. But she’s not watching my face. “I was thinking about coming down to the bar, sliding onto the stool next to you.”

“And that made you come?”

“Thinking about seducing you did.”

“I would’ve swallowed my tongue.”

Her head drops back as I slide my finger under the fabric, the slick feel of her heat almost overwhelming. “Yes, like that,” she whispers, grasping my wrist as though to keep me there.

“Or maybe I’d have persuaded you to take a little walk because the whole time I was at the bar I was thinking about you. Watching you. Hoping you were a little jealous.”

“Wicked man. Oh, God. You’re really good at that.” She undulates against me and I swallow her tight breaths as I work my fingers in and out of her, loving the way she feels. The way she moves. The way she just fucking is. And she’s so fucking wet, the kind of wet I can’t resist painting across her lips, tracing the line with my tongue.
