Cocky Billionaire - Page 15

“Took you long enough. Stop being an ass and get in bed.”

“I’m not used to sharing a bed with anyone,” she said.

“Neither am I.”

“You expect me to believe you don’t share a bed with the women?”

“Fucking is a lot different than sleeping. For all I know, I’m about to have the worst weekend full of sleep.”

She climbed into bed, thankful for the pillows between them.

This was easy. She could do this. So easy.

She settled into bed and the light went out. She was very much aware of how close he was.

“I like your family.”

“Do you talk a lot when we need to sleep?”

“No, I just wanted you to know you’re very lucky.”

“Thanks.”

She heard him yawn and smiled. Tucking her hand beneath her cheek, she closed her eyes.

“You did good tonight,” he said.

“I thought we were sleeping,” she said.

“We are. I just thought you should know.”

“Thank you.”

“Goodnight,” he said.

“Goodnight.”

Chapter Five

Caleb became aware of a nice, soft body pressed against his side. He opened his eyes and glanced down to see … Lauren. The pillows he’d spread on the bed to keep them separate were gone and now he had his woman against him, not that it was a bad thing.

She felt good with his arm was around her. She was drooling onto his chest, he was sure of it.

What time was it?

Reaching for the clock, he saw it was a little after seven. He needed to pee but he didn’t want to disturb Lauren.

How did men get out of this?

He hadn’t been lying to her last night when he said he’d never shared a bed. He never had. This was the first time he’d shared a bed with a woman and well, he rather liked it. He couldn’t recall a time he’d slept so soundly.

One of her legs was also pinning him down and he was sure his knee pressed against her pussy.

This wasn’t fair. It should be illegal with how close he was to this woman.

Glancing down, he saw the top of her head. He could stay here and develop the worst case of blue balls or wake her up. Neither sounded like a good option.

He didn’t have a choice though. “Lauren.”

She mumbled.

“Come on. I’ve got to pee.”

She wriggled and rubbed against him, and it felt like she was actually getting herself more comfortable, which didn’t bode well with him.

“Lauren,” he said, raising his voice.

He gave her shoulder a shake and she gasped, sitting up.

“What? Where am I? Huh?” She turned and glanced back at him and groaned. “What happened?”

“We slept together in the non-sex variety.”

“Where are the pillows?” she asked.

“One can only assume you kicked them out of the way.”

“I wouldn’t do that.”

“Clearly, you did.”

She shuffled over to the side of the bed. “I’m sorry. The bed, and the sleep, I guess I didn’t know how much I needed that.”

“You don’t have to worry about a thing.” He winked at her. “It’s all good for me.”

She groaned and stretched.

The shirt she wore raised across her chest and he happened to notice how tight her nipples were.

Time for him to take a leak. He climbed out of bed and rushed toward the bathroom, closing the door. He took a leak, washed his hands, splashed water on his face, and brushed his teeth. Coffee was what he needed to clear this fog from his brain. It was driving him crazy.

Leaving the bathroom, he saw Lauren at her suitcase, picking out some clothing. She didn’t speak to him as she snuck into the bathroom.

He changed into a pair of sweatpants and a shirt that had seen better days. He made the bed and rather than wait for her, he headed out and down to the kitchen.

His mother was at the stove, already in the midst of preparing a killer breakfast.

“I thought you’d have been busy this morning.”

“Ew, come on, Mom, I don’t want to know how you know about sex and all that,” he said.

He moved over to the coffee machine and poured himself a nice large cup keeping it black.

“Lauren seems nice. Not your usual type.” His mother slapped down a newspaper. He lifted it up.

“This was a few weeks ago.”

“Yeah, and you want me to believe you’ve just miraculously found this woman and you’ve been living two lives? One with the cleaner and one where you’re an asshole playboy?”

“I don’t know what you’re going to believe, but what I feel for Lauren is real. This, I was pissed off. I didn’t sleep with any of these girls. The moment they started on the drugs, I got out of there.”

“And you think it makes me feel any better?”

“No,” he said. “Look, I take care of myself, I promise.”

His mother looked past his shoulder and there in the doorway was Lauren. “I hope I’m not interrupting.”

“Not at all. Why don’t you grab a coffee and Caleb will show you the sights? I’ve got a lot to do and it’ll give me time to have everything ready.”
