Rock-a-Bye, Baby - Page 5

I liked that response a whole lot more. “What were you thinking about, then?”

“That I was happy I hadn’t wasted my time with other women because I’d finally found the only other thing besides music that matters to me.” His lips brushed over mine as he whispered the last word against them. “You.”

Chapter 3

Griffith

I lifted my head and licked my lips, tasting a sweetness that I instinctively knew was natural to Belle. My eyes were locked with hers, and I smiled as I tucked some wayward strands of her dark hair behind one ear. It was hard to remember where we were with her curvy body so close to mine. My hands were itching to discover every peak and valley.

Her head was tipped backwards so she could look up at me. She only came to my chin and despite her mouthwatering curves, she looked small and delicate to me. I had a brief moment of worry that I might not be able to get my large girth inside her. The thought was fleeting because I knew in my soul that this woman was made for me, which meant we would fit together perfectly.

I was devising a plan to get the fuck out of there and take her to bed when someone tapped me on the shoulder. I almost growled in frustration as I whipped around. But it was another group of fans who’d paid to spend time with the band, so I plastered on my smile and greeted them jovially. When I sensed movement in the corner of my eye, I glanced over to see Belle moving away. My hand darted out to take hold of hers, and I dragged her back to stand by my side. Then I returned my attention to the fans, though I made sure to include Belle in the conversation.

For the next hour, I did my job, talking with the VIPs, taking photos, and autographing everything from a concert ticket to a crocheted, stuffed doll that had been made to look like me.

“This isn’t a Voodoo doll, is it?” I asked playfully. The woman holding it had to be nearing her seventies, but she giggled like a teenager. I wasn’t sure whether to be amused or creeped out.

“It’s for my granddaughter, silly boy,” she responded with another high-pitched giggle.

After she walked away, Belle leaned in and whispered, “I’m not sure I believe her.”

I grinned and kissed her cheek. “Trust me, baby. I’ve seen weirder.”

She raised an eyebrow. “Oh, really?”

The room was fairly empty at this point, so I guided Belle over to a small seating area and sat on a black leather couch before pulling her down beside me. I threw my arm over the back, and my fingers played idly with her hair as I thought back.

“Let’s see,” I reminisced. “Prosthetic limbs, feminine products, sex toys, food, clothing—including a jock strap because you don’t have to be female to appreciate all this.” I gestured to my body jokingly and winked at her. Belle laughed, and the sound went straight to my dick. It was musical, and I was instantly addicted, which meant I’d have to hear it every day for the rest of my life.

“What about…um”—she blushed a pretty pink that went down her neck and disappeared in the scoop neck of her purple blouse. I instantly wondered how far down it went and was determined to find out—“boobs?”

I shook my head and felt my expression twist in disgust. “No fucking way. I don’t touch any woman like that unless she’s mine.” Belle looked relieved, and it made me smile. “In fact, body parts are a hard line for me. I won’t sign anywhere because it’s hard to say yes to some and not others. So, I just stay away from it altogether.”

Belle’s expression turned bright, and she snuggled closer to me before laying her head on my shoulder. A shadow fell over us and I sighed, sure it was Knox showing up to be a pain in my ass. However, when we looked up, it was one of Belle’s sisters (the blonde…Aurora, I think) and she was grinning down at us.

“Gotta say, Belle, I’m a little jealous of you snagging the hot, rock god.” Her tone was teasing, and her twinkling eyes held no hint of truth to the statement. “FYI, I begged Drew to fabricate some job for Knox so he’s off working and will be busy for a while.” She winked at Belle, then her brown eyes, just a shade or two lighter than Belle’s, focused on me. Her expression was intense, but not unkind. “You couldn’t do better; you know that right?”

I nodded solemnly. “It only took one look for me to recognize how special she is,” I confirmed.

Aurora nodded, and her lips tipped up again. “Just make sure you treat her right. It may seem like Knox is the one to be afraid of”—she leaned down and got right in my face— “but trust me, you don’t want to face the wrath of pissed off sisters when they're protecting each other.”
