This is Alexa Mathers, my assistant’s twin sister. Alyssa mentioned her in passing as her emergency contact, but I never thought twice about her. Had I known what Alexa would make me feel—Alyssa would have had an emergency. Even if it was work-related.
Alexa pushes through the door and freezes, telling me all I need to know. We’ve never met, and I’m guessing she never cared to look me up. Her eyes scream interest in me, and it shocks her the same way it does me.
Trying to gain control before I pin her to the nearest wall, I bark out my frustration to create some distance. “Ms. Mathers, you’re late.”
“Actually, I don’t start for another ten minutes.” She looks at her watch, which is obviously broken. Her sister would never dare to speak that way to me or even be late in the first place. I hold back the smile on my face. She’s going to be learning very quickly that she shouldn’t push me.
“Get in and get started. I have a flight to catch.” She attempts to walk to her desk, but like a brand new foal, she can’t gain her footing. She’s going to hurt herself, and that pisses me off. “You shouldn’t wear heels that are too tall for you, Ms. Mathers.”
She wants to say something, but she bites her tongue like a good girl. Hell, I’d wish she’d be a bad girl so I can spank her ass. I’m not sure where the thought comes from, but the sick bastard in me has suddenly bubbled to the surface. Seeing her ass pink from my hand would be hot as hell.
I should help her, but I know that if I touch her, it’ll be to flip her over and carry her off to my office and fuck her on my desk before I leave. Leaving doesn’t sound good to me anymore. I have a much better idea—taking her on my business trip to be alone with me in a hotel room.
Needing to get my blood cooled, I walk into my office and take off my suit jacket and swing it around the back of my chair. Without it on, my cock is obscenely visible through my thin black slacks. I give it a squeeze, hoping to calm it down, but all I’m considering is finding a way to get her naked.
Suddenly, I feel overheated, and I know it has nothing to do with the thermostat and everything to do with Ms. Alexa Mathers. I roll my sleeves to the middle of my forearms and loosen my tie. I barely get my laptop up and running when I jump out of my chair and find a reason to see her.
Stepping out of my office, I watch Alexa smile at her phone, instantly making me jealous. Does she have a boyfriend who is wishing her good morning? I lose my shit and step into her path. I itch to steal her phone, but I don’t. Instead, I give her more shit, so she’ll snap and tell me the truth.
“Once you get yourself together, I’d like my coffee and the reports from Franklin. What I mean is I expect it in my office in ten minutes or less. Do you understand, Ms. Mathers?”
“Yes, sir.” She salutes me and then walks to the kitchen, forgetting her shoes under her desk. I don’t say anything because I’d rather her be safe. It’s not like there’s more than just the two of us up here. That’s when I notice she’s taken her phone with her. She texts as she walks, driving me nuts.
She comes back, rushing with a blush on her face as she slips her feet into those dangerous contraptions.
“Shouldn’t you be working? Don’t you have to leave early to catch your flight?” Damn, she’s asking for it.
“I should ask you the same thing. You don’t need your phone to do your job.” I notice the case is a hot pink one. I’ve never seen Alyssa with anything other than a black cover on her phone. “New case?”
“Yes. I cracked the last one. This was all the store had.” Little liar. That case looks like it’s been dropped a lot.
I’m really going to enjoy spanking her ass. “Speaking of the trip, did you bring your passport?”
“I don’t think so. I mean, why would I need it?” There’s instant panic on her face.
“Ms. Mathers, it’s what I told you to have prepared in case I need you to go with me on a trip. Now, do you have it?” She opens up her purse and doesn’t find it.
It’s cool because I know exactly where it is—in my safe. Ms. Mathers obtained it at my request. Although until today, I never felt it necessary to take my assistant. I could manage everything myself or call her, so I promised to hold onto it for her where it could be protected. Ms. Mathers should know that, but the little imposter doesn’t.
