Dirty Letters - Page 58

My eyes widened and my head whipped back around. “Griffin?”

He moved the flowers to reveal his beautiful, smiling face. “You said anytime. Hope now is okay.”

My heart felt like it was going to leap from my chest. “I can’t believe this.”

“Believe it. I’m here and all yours for the next few days.”

I wanted to cry tears of happiness. Griffin looked so sexy, dressed in a leather jacket and ripped jeans. His hair was tousled from all the travel, but honestly, he was even hotter messy. I, on the other hand, was just a hot mess right now.

He handed me the flowers.

Gesturing to my face, I said, “Look at me. I’m a disaster.”

“Rolling around in the mud with Hortencia again, eh?”

“It’s a beauty mask, which is pretty ironic, because it’s far from attractive.”

“Even with mud on your face, you’re still the most beautiful girl in the world.” He opened his arms. “C’mere.”

“I’m a mess. I—”

He didn’t listen to me when he pulled me into him and planted a huge kiss on my lips despite the goop on my face. Now some of it was on his face, too.

After a few seconds of breathing him in and tasting his tongue, though, I stopped caring about how I looked. All that mattered was that my Griffin had come all this way to see me and that I had him all to myself for a little while.

Hortencia ran into the room and started to oink. It was only then that Griffin broke away from me.

He rubbed his swollen lips as he said, “Ah. The famous Hortencia.” He bent down and spoke to her. “Pleasure to meet you, lovely lady. You know, I saw some of your mates the other day. They say hi.”

Groink.

I laughed and said, “Let me go wash my face real quick and get you a towel to wipe yours.”

I put the flowers down on a table and Griffin followed me to the bathroom.

When he noticed my filled tub, he said, “So sorry I interrupted your bath time.” He smiled. “Actually . . . I’m not.”

“I had this whole thing planned. I took out lingerie and was going to change into it for our call. But I was going to take a bath first. Obviously you came to the door and thwarted that.”

“Well, by all means, don’t let me interrupt your plans.”

I rubbed his cheek. “You must be exhausted from the flight.”

He took both my hands into his. “Doesn’t matter. All worth it. I’ve been dying to get to you.”

“From the photos I’ve seen, you’ve been so busy. You’ve hardly had a moment to breathe over the past week. It means so much to me that you came.”

“Everything I’ve done has been all about getting here. Believe me. I want to make the best of these three days.”

I really needed to get this mud off my face. “Let me just take a quick bath, get dressed, and then I’ll meet you out there. Why don’t you relax for a bit? Make yourself at home. There’s some iced tea in the fridge, or I have some red wine on the counter you could open.”

He sighed. “Alright. Don’t take too long.”

Not wanting to waste a single minute of this time with him, I washed off the remaining mud from my face and scrubbed my body quickly in the tub. I put on the lingerie that I’d laid out and walked back into the living room. Griffin was lying down on the couch with his eyes closed. Poor guy must have been so tired.

“I’m back.”

His eyes blinked open as he sat up. He was speechless as he got a look at my scantily clad body, dressed in a purple Chantilly lace teddy. I’d taken my hair down and let it cover my breasts, which otherwise would have been pretty exposed through the lace. I felt a little vulnerable standing there in almost nothing, but it was the least I could do, considering I’d greeted him looking like the Bride of Frankenstein.

“Luca . . . you . . . God.” He rubbed his eyes. “Am I dreaming?”

“You don’t mind if I hang out in this tonight, do you?”

“As long as you don’t mind me sporting a perpetual hard-on or having to escape to the bathroom from time to time to wank off . . . no.”

I laughed. “I can live with that.”

“Alrighty then. We have a deal.”

He stood up and walked toward me. God, he smelled so damn good, like sugar and spice. My nipples hardened.

I took his hand. His thumb brushed against mine.

“Can I show you around the rest of the place?”

His eyes were on my breasts. “Huh?”

Feeling my cheeks heat up, I laughed. “Do you want a tour?”

“A tour?”

“Of the house . . .”

“Oh . . . yes. Yes. Show me around.” As we walked together, he placed his hand on my back, which sent shivers down my spine. “Sorry . . . ,” he said. “I’m still a little distracted by you right now.”
