I smile because truth is, I kind of want to be surprised when the big day finally comes and our baby is born. But then again, if Cassie wants to know, so be it. It’s whatever she wants. Always.
Glancing at Cassie again, I see she’s smiling from ear to ear.
“We’re having a baby,” she says so softly I know she means it for only me to hear.
“A baby,” I say in response and lean in to kiss her on the lips. “I love you.” I’m staring into her eyes, those big, beautiful eyes that have my heart skipping a beat—just like every time I look into them.
“I love you, too,” she says.
I didn’t think it was possible, but her words make me fall even more madly in love with her.
