Ranch Daddy - Page 53

“Fuck, boy. At least let me catch my breath before you get me ready to go again.”

I laughed. “There’s never a time I don’t want you.”

He raised a brow. “Are you saying I’m not satisfying you well enough?”

“No. I’m saying you satisfy me so well I want to feel that good all the time.”

“Then it’s a good thing we have all weekend.”

I nodded slowly. “Yeah, it is.”

“Let’s find out how big the shower is.”

I grinned. “Bigger than yours at the ranch I bet.”

“I’m coming in with you no matter what size it is.”

“I wouldn’t have it any other way.”

His grin made me shiver. “Good, because I like to help my boy get nice and clean.”

After Blake made sure every part of me was squeaky clean and let me do the same for him, we pulled on the fluffy white robes the hotel provided and settled on the sofa. Blake opened the champagne expertly.

“Damn. I had no idea how sexy that could be.”

He grinned at me as he filled our glasses.

“I didn’t think cowboys drank champagne.”

“I don’t other than maybe a glass at New Year’s. I’m usually in bed way before midnight though. The cows don’t give a fuck if it’s a new year or not.”

“But you got champagne for me?”

He shrugged. “Seemed like the right thing for the moment.”

“It’s perfect.” I picked up one of the flutes and waited, wondering if we should toast, then Blake said, “To new beginnings.” He clinked his glass to mine, and we both took a sip.

I giggled when I saw him shiver.

“I always forget how it tickles.”

“That is so fucking adorable.”

He glared at me. “Don’t you dare tell anybody back at the ranch I said that. Or that I drink champagne. Or—”

“I don’t intend to tell anybody about any of this. This is our time. It’s not for anyone else.”

He smiled, and I watched him as I took another sip of champagne. My head was already spinning because I was half-drunk on need for him. There was no telling what I might say if we finished the bottle.

We both set our glasses on the table, and Blake pulled out his phone. “I thought I’d look up some career quizzes. I know they can be silly, but who knows what we might come up with that inspires you.”

Damn. Could he be any fucking sweeter? “Okay, but chocolate first.”

“What if I said you had to wait?”

“Then I’d flutter my eyelashes at you and do everything I could to get my way.”

Blake gave me a stern look, but I could tell he was fighting not to smile. “That would earn you a spanking.”

“Then I’d be almost as happy as if I got chocolate.”

He rolled his eyes. “You’re a brat, but this weekend is about giving you what you want.”

I smiled as I picked up the plate of truffles and held it out to him. “You pick first.”

The truffles had labels by them, letting us know whether they were caramel, mocha, chili pepper, or raspberry. We had two of each.

Blake chose a chili pepper one, popped it into his mouth, and I watched as his eyes widened and then fluttered closed. He groaned, a deep, rumbling sound I’d only heard during sex.

“Maybe this wasn’t a good idea. I don’t know how I’m going to concentrate on a career quiz after watching you eat that.”

He grinned at me. “I can’t help that they’re so fucking good.”

I picked up a raspberry one and bit into it. As the flavor exploded in my mouth, I understood his reaction. It tasted almost as good as sex with him felt. Almost.

“I take it you like them too?”

“Mmmhmm. These are incredible.”

We ate one more each, and Blake poured some more champagne before handing me his phone. “Try this one.”

I took a quiz as I sipped champagne.

Blake wrapped an arm around my shoulders and snuggled against me, watching me choose my answers.

When I clicked to get the results, a stock photo of a brown-haired man in a lab coat holding a kitten popped up. The caption said, “You should be a veterinarian.”

“Um… Did you see me after I had my hand in that cow? I almost threw up.”

Blake dismissed that with a wave of his hand. “I’m sure that happens to a lot of people starting out. You like working with animals, you’re caring, and you like variety. It could be a good path for you.”

I wasn’t so confident. “Maybe, but that’s a lot of school to get through.”

Blake raised his brows. “I hope you’re not implying you wouldn’t be capable of finishing vet school.”

I shook my head. “No, sir. I’m not saying that.”

“Not saying it or not thinking it?”

I tried to look away, but he caught my chin and turned me back to face him. “Riley, you can do anything, remember?”

He could almost make me believe that. “Okay, Daddy.”
