Well, needless to say, each of my friends had one hell of a story to tell after that day. But, as with most stories, they’re better told by those who lived them. Wouldn’t you agree?
Suffice it to say, there were three more weddings soon after mine. One surprising. One maybe not so much. And another downright shocking.
But all that aside, I’d found all I’d ever been looking for. I found my king, and love where I never thought I’d find it. I found my own happy ending, and that’s all I need.
Later, there’d be a family of our own, or families our friends start. There’s rebuilding the damage to Dungow, including a new gorgeous library Hamish had built for me for my birthday that first year. There’d be the scandal surrounding Ailith, and the gossip about Catriona. And then of course, everything with Rhona too.
Or the fact that we hadn’t seen the last of Tor Odinson that day.
But, as I said, those are all stories for another day. Hamish and I have our own—one that we continue to write every day, with words from our hearts whispered from our lips.
Did he tame me? Did I tame him? Or maybe it’s just that I found the man who was my equal, who wanted to ride that wildness right there with me.
And maybe, just maybe, that’s exactly what we found.
The End
