He sighed. “I got involved with his love life and he didn’t appreciate it. The couple he was interested in decided they wanted to try BDSM, I encouraged it. Cole accused me of corrupting them.”
“Couple?”
He smiled. “Yep. Two. He didn’t do things by half.”
“I’m so sorry that you argued. Are you sure you couldn’t make things up with him?”
“The truth is, sprite. I’m not sure I even want to.”
He rolled over so he lay over her, his weight supported on his arms. “Now, we have a few hours before we have to get back. What do you propose we do?”
“We could make some breakfast.”
“I am hungry. But not food. I think I’ll just snack on you instead.”
Well, who was she to argue?
They’d just pulled up outside his house when his phone rang. He looked down at the caller ID. “Private number.”
“I’ll go in and let you take the call. I’m eager to see the boys.”
“Hey.” He grabbed hold of her and pulled her close, kissing her. “Thank you, pet.”
“For what?”
“For trusting me. Loving me.”
She smiled at him. “Putting up with you?”
“Do you want another spanking, brat?”
“Oh, no. No, I’m fine, thank you, Sir.”
She jumped out of the truck with a laugh and raced into the house. He answered the call. “Hello, this is Saxon.”
“S-Saxon?”
He straightened as he heard the shaky voice on the other end. Male. And scared, very scared.
“Yes, who is this?”
“It’s Julian Michaels. I knew you when we lived in L.A.?”
“Julian. I remember.” Like he could forget that time in his life.
“Saxon, I know you don’t know me well. But I really need your help.”
“Tell me what you need.”
As he listened to the story unfold, his stomach tightened. “Wait right there. I’ll get to you as soon as I can. Just stay there. Stay safe. I’m coming.”
Fuck. Julian was in a world of trouble, and so was his wife, Keira. And he had to help them. Cole might have thrown them away. But he didn’t do that to subs in trouble.
“You’re going to South America?”
She watched Saxon pack some clothes into a duffel bag. He grabbed his passport and tucked it into a pocket in the bag. He turned to her. “I have to go. Some old friends need help.”
“Now?”
