“Hey, Shane! Guess who I found wandering around outside looking at the decorations.” I walked into the house and held the door for Brianna.
“Who?” Shane walked into the main part of the foyer and then his eyes lit up. “Brianna! Hey, good to see you again.”
“Hey there.” Brianna smiled and waved.
“Shane, why don’t you pour a few glasses of iced tea, and I’ll give Brianna a quick tour.” I motioned to the living room.
The first few days Shane and I spent in the mansion was devoted entirely to cleaning up trash left behind by squatters and scrubbing down the first few rooms we would be working in. Luckily, we had a truck full of industrial equipment to make the tasks easier than they would have been if we were trying to do it by hand. The family that lived there before had done very little to maintain the place, so there were broken windows and busted doors that needed a lot of repair. Anything that might have been valuable at some point had been looted, but they didn’t run off with any of the furniture. None of it was in very good shape, but it would do until we were able to figure out an alternative.
“This place isn’t as scary as I always imagined.” Brianna looked around the house and smiled.
“Well you haven’t seen the basement yet. That’s where we kill all the beautiful young women we lure into our lair.” I narrowed my eyes and smiled.
“Right…” Brianna laughed nervously and started walking back to the living room.
I wasn’t sure if it was some perfect twist of fate or something deeper that brought Brianna to our doorstep, but I wasn’t going to let her get away so easily the second time. I still saw the beautiful submissive begging to be brought to the surface, and it was so sweet I could taste it in the air. As soon as we got to the living room, Shane walked in with a tray and three glasses of tea. Brianna sat down in one of the chairs and I sat down directly across from her. She was so fucking gorgeous. “That’s pretty much it. We’ve been doing it since college. Houses like this can turn a pretty good profit if we give them the right amount of attention.” Shane nodded and sipped his tea.
“Yeah, but then they have to actually live in it. This town isn’t exactly a thriving metropolis.” Brianna raised her eyebrows and shrugged. “Why would anyone want to live here?”
“You’d be surprised. There are plenty of people that like the peace and quiet. They love houses like this, especially when we get them updated with some modern conveniences.” Shane leaned back in his chair. “What’s boring to you is heaven for some people.”
“I guess.” Brianna nodded, but I could tell she didn’t completely understand the allure. “It doesn’t look like this place is ready to host a Halloween party, though.”
“What’s the point of having a party when the guest of honor turned you down?” Shane chuckled and shrugged. “Fine, full confession—we just wanted to hang out with the two of you.”
“Yeah, I kind of figured that.” Brianna cut her eyes towards Shane.
“Too bad you have plans for Halloween.” I shook my head in disappointment.
“Why?” Brianna turned her attention back to me. “I would be pretty disappointed if I showed up expecting a party and just sat in a dirty old house drinking tea all night.”
“I think we could find a way to entertain you.” I chuckled under my breath.
“Okay, I’m curious now. What exactly would you do to entertain me?” Brianna sipped her tea and leaned back in her chair.
She’s testing the waters now, I just have to dangle enough bait to get her to bite.
“What was it you said you were going as for Halloween? A sexy cheerleader?” I leaned forward a little more.
“Yeah, well, that was what Jackie said.” Brianna nodded in confirmation.
“How would you like to have a chance to live that character for one night?” I looked over at Shane and saw a look of apprehension in his eyes.
