Accidental Love (Accidental Hook-Up 1)
I watched as he pulled on some shorts and left the room, closing the door. I couldn’t remember my name as I closed my eyes. The house sounded quiet, and I breathed in and out as I recovered from whatever the fuck I just did. The door opened, and I felt something cold against my skin. “Here baby.” I loved his name for me as generic as it might be, and I twisted the cap off and took a long drink. I opened my eyes as I watched him do the same, caught up in lust over this man.
“That was… everything.” I murmured as he stared at me.
“When are they going to be home?” He asked as he draped himself over the pillows, taking another sip.
“Probably about three hours. They love the spa.” I said drowsily as I let my eyes close.
“Don’t you?” Remy asked as I smirked.
“Let’s see. Should I let a stranger massage my muscles or be in this bed with you? I don’t know what’s better,” I mused aloud as I started laughing.
“Touché,” Remy said as he nuzzled against my neck. “I don’t want anyone else’s hands on you.”
“You are such a caveman,” I pretended to sigh as he kissed me. We rested in bed as long as we felt it was safe, getting up to shower and take a walk on the beach. He managed to take me one more time on my knees, moving slowly inside of me.
I dressed in some worn jeans and a loose sweatshirt, slipping my feet into sandals. He met me at the door and we headed down the beach, waiting until we were out of sight before he took my hand. “I feel good,” I told him as I gazed at him.
“I feel complete.” He told me as I laughed.
“How do we do this?” My words came out softly as he slowed down to pull me behind some rocks to kiss me.
“I think we need to see how we work together before involving anyone else in this. It’s going to shake things up a lot. I know that I feel strongly about you and have for a while.” He gazed at me and I smiled. “I do want this to be just us. I don’t sleep with multiple women at once.”
“I don’t either.” I pulled myself up to him for another kiss and he wrapped his arms around me. We finally started walking again, letting a few feet between us so it appeared casual. When I could see the house, I looked up and mourned the loss of our intimacy.
When we walked into the house, Brinley and her mom were just arriving. They had big bags of food in their hands and smiled as they saw me. “Feeling better? Did you take a walk?”
“Yeah. Remy came to make sure I didn’t die alone out there.” I told Melinda as Remy looked at me.
“That was nice,” Brinley said as she looked me over. “Did you take a nap? Phoebe wants to go to dinner and a movie tonight. It’s low key and you like that.”
“I’m not sure. I kind of want to stay in tonight.” Melinda started unloading the food from Panera, placing salads and sandwiches on the counter as I looked it over. I reached for a fruit and chicken salad and Remy got us water from the fridge. He picked up a sandwich, and we sat down at the table as Melinda and Brinley grabbed their lunch. I asked how the spa was and they filled us in as I took slow bites of the salad. I kept my gaze away from Remy as we all chatted, pretending that I didn’t want to jump him again.
Brinley went to call Phoebe and make plans while Melinda looked me over. “You look better.” She smiled as she tossed away the trash.
“A little rest goes a long way,” I quipped as she gave her son a long look. He excused himself and went to take a phone call as I watched, wondering if it was about the job. If it was, he’d stay here in San Diego and we would still see each other.
CHAPTER EIGHT
Remy
I was happy to hear Rick on the other end of the phone. I walked into my room and opened a window to air out the room. It still smelled like sex in here and that wasn’t going to fly.
“Remington, we were very pleased with your interview. After having a few others, we’d like to offer you the position. How does that sound?”
“Perfect. I’d love to work for you.” I told him, sitting on the messy bed.
“Good. Come in tomorrow at nine and we’ll get all the paperwork taken care of. You’ll start in two Mondays when the pay period starts to make it easier for everyone. That way, you’ll have some free time to relax before going back to a work schedule.”
