Kennedy's Redemption (The Protectors 3) - Page 60

When she awoke, her body was tied the table in the middle of the room and Emily was chained in her spot on the wall.

“This can’t be happening again,” she screamed out.

Sitting on the floor cradling her knees to her chest, she tried to figure out what was going on, why she was back in hell. What did she do so wrong in her life that she deserved to be tortured twice?

A stabbing pain on the bottom of her foot had her real self screaming out, clutching it, only to find nothing there. Gazing back up at the couple, she watched as the woman pulled a needle from her foot.

Bile threatened to rise up her throat, and she had to breathe deeply to swallow it back down. She refused to give them the satisfaction of losing it.

A moan from behind her had all of them looking at Emily. She watched as her eyes took in the room around them and everyone’s positions in it. When her eyes met Kennedy, they filled with remorse.

Kennedy remembered that moment like it was yesterday.

When she had first seen Emily she’d been terrified, then it had been turned to anger. How dare they? How could they think that it was ok to torture women this way? Had she had her own voice she would have blasted them, but Emily had taken care of that for them. In that moment, she’d never been more proud of someone in her entire life. Emily threw herself at them with words so they’d be

distracted from Kennedy.

“Hey!” she’d tried yelling, but it was more like a whisper. Clearing her throat, her voice was stronger when she yelled again. “Hey, bitch! Why don’t you take on someone not tied up and defenseless?”

Their eyes had clashed across the room. Kennedy tried to beg her to stop, to leave it alone. They both didn’t need to suffer this pain. Emily’s voice screamed of strength and conviction; a hatred for their captors she wished she could convey herself.

“C’mon, Mama, come play with a big girl.” Emily kept taunting her. She wanted to scream at her to stop, to just keep quiet. But Emily was on a mission.

When Emily looked at the man she smirked, saying, “She’s not woman enough for you anymore, is she? She’s lost that spark she used to have, huh? That’s why you’ve been trying to nail my ass for years!” Turning back to the woman she laughed. “Ya, you know it, too, don’t you, honey? You feel him pulling away every day. He barely touches you now, huh. It must suck knowing you can’t keep this fruit cake and yet, I have two gorgeous men all to myself. And this one…” Kennedy held her breath when the woman started to move towards Emily. “He wants me, too. That must burn.” Emily laughed when she shot a nasty look at him.

Blackness from the pain started to crowd her vision as the woman walked over to the man. She was fighting to stay awake now. Her pain was taking her under and she wasn’t strong enough to fight it. She tried to tell herself to stay awake just a little bit longer, that they would be rescued soon.

There was a loud crashing noise, gunshots, screaming and crying when the darkness finally took her away.

Loud screams and pain-filled moans woke Creed from one of the best night’s sleep he’d had in months. Having Kennedy in their bed was far more than he’d ever imagined. Everything felt like it was finally falling into place.

Looking to where Kennedy lay between them, she was tense. Her body seemed locked tight in prose. When she let out another ear-piercing scream he tried running his hands along her body slowly, just a whisper of a touch, but it only seemed to add to her pain. He was at a loss as to what to do.

This was worse than she’d ever been in the past. She was sweating and moaning, her breaths were stuttered like there was something trapping them in her body. She was so tense he could see veins popping out in her neck and forehead.

“What the fuck do we do, Creed?” The fear in his brother’s voice had him worried. Linc was fearless.

“A shower. Go turn a cold shower on,” he ordered.

As Linc got up to do that, he started stripping off the sheets around her that were sticky with her sweat from the amount of thrashing she’d been doing. It was a testament to how intense her nightmare must be.

“Ready!” Linc yelled from the bathroom.

Picking her up he made his way to the shower, hissing when the cold water hit his body. Turning so she got the majority of the water, she started gulping in air but still wasn’t waking up. Linc climbed in beside them and tried lightly tapping her cheek, almost begging. “C’mon, Sunshine, wake up. Let us take these nightmares away.”

As she just continued to moan he tried to massage the tenseness out of her muscles; it slowly started working. He could feel her relaxing bit by bit as he made his way down her body. When he reached her legs, she began thrashing and screaming again making Creed nearly drop her.

They sunk to the floor of the shower as one when she finally let loose a scream so loud he wouldn’t be shocked to find a few shattered windows in the house.

“We might have to call for help,” Linc said to him.

Their eyes locked for a moment, fear reflected between them.

After a few more minutes of them trying to soothe her with soft words and touches, she gasped and her eyes flung open. They were wild and filled with terror and pain; finally landing on Linc and Creed, they softened with recognition.

“You saved me,” was all she whispered before passing out again.
