The Introvert's Guide to Blind Dating (The Introvert's Guide 3) - Page 50

“Piper.”

“I used the money from your commissions and the other recipes and made an offer.” The words rolled off my tongue. “I lowballed her. Hard. Because of the work it needs to make it a functioning kitchen again.” I breathed out. “And I just found out an hour ago that she accepted it.”

Maverick stared at me.

“Eventually Millie will run it, and I’ll keep doing what I do here,” I said quickly. “But I need to be kind of in the middle of the towns while I go back and forth, so I’m going to ask Felicity if she wants to lease my apartment.”

He swallowed. “And you’ll move in with me.”

“I was going to ask Josh if I could—”

“There’s no point. I live thirty seconds down the street, Blondie.” He hesitated, then laughed. “Oh, my God. I’m so proud of you.” He wrapped me into a massive hug before I could respond. “I need to tell you something, too.”

“Okay?”

“When my lease ended, the owners asked me if I wanted first refusal on the house.”

I pulled back and looked at him. “Are you serious?”

He nodded. “I was going to wait until I’d closed to give you a key because I know you like living over the bakery and I didn’t want you to move if you didn’t have to, but if you’re going to commute for a little bit and you think Felicity will take your apartment…”

“She will. She wants to move out of her mom’s house.” I touched my fingers to my lips. “Does that—we’ll live together?”

“We practically do anyway, we’ll just share bills now.”

Laughing, I kissed him, holding him tightly. I couldn’t believe this conversation was happening.

“I love you,” I whispered into his neck, squeezing my eyes shut.

He smiled against my temple. “I love you, too, Blondie. But I think I’m going to need a bigger pantry.”

THE END
