We can’t sneak around forever, I know that much, but for now, this is what we have to do.
“I love you,” I murmur in between the delicious kisses with my tall, dark, and handsome man. “I know that I shouldn’t, but I love you so much that it hurts. I didn’t know love could be like this.”
Not only Garrett is my first love but I’m certain he will be my only love. I don’t want anyone else. And even if we ever spent time apart, I wouldn’t even be able to look at anyone else. He’s it for me.
“I love you too,” he replies in his sexy, husky voice that drives me wild. “That’s why I’m coming to the party with you tonight. I remember my own graduation party and it was absolutely insane.”
“And you’re going to be the “responsible one” at the party now?!” I stroke his cheek gently. “Is that what you’re telling me?”
“Of course not.” He grins, adorable dimples popping in his cheeks. “I’m going anywhere that you are. Especially in that dress. I’m not leaving you alone with those horny high school boys, no way!”
“Actually, there is one particularly horny college boy I’d like to be left alone with.” I wink at him playfully. “I can handle that much… at least, I think I can…”
Garrett might not know it yet, unless he can sense it, but tonight is the night. Our first time. My first time for sure and his too, I think. I know that he had one girlfriend before me, but I don’t think they ever had sex. Doing this for the first time at a party might not be the ideal place for most people, but we don’t have many places where we can sneak off to fool around without getting caught. And at least this way, I would’ve had a drink or two, so I won’t be so nervous either.
That’s another reason why I can’t wait to get to the party, because it’s going to be an even bigger night for me. Graduation, the first day of my very last summer of high school before college, and the day that I become a woman.
“I think I hear her.” Garrett shoves me off his lap. “You better get going before she catches us.”
I give him one last kiss just before I race back into Sadie’s room to sit on her bed. My breathing is raspy and desperate, my heart hammering fast against my rib cage, adrenaline racing through me…but thankfully, Sadie is far too wrapped up in whatever Warren just said to her to notice. Thank God because I’m pretty sure that my cheeks must be red, raw with the knowledge that I am going to give Garrett my everything tonight.
It’s a forbidden love for sure, and I should keep a million miles away from him, but the magnetic pull is impossible to ignore. We never stood a chance. Maybe everything will be fine when we eventually spill the beans, especially if Sadie and I are going to be roommates in college, but if its not, I want one last perfect night with my man.
“Are you ready?” Sadie asks me excitedly. “I can’t wait. Warren is on his way already.”
“Sure… is Garrett driving us still?” I hate to use his name in front of Sadie because I always feel like it gives me away, but on this occasion, I need to feign ignorance.
“I’ll go and ask him. God, I’m so excited! Can you believe its finally our graduation party?? This is going to be the best night of our lives.”
As soon as she’s gone, I brush my fingers over my passion bruised lips, grinning to myself in anticipation. If Garrett kisses as well as he does, and he has electricity circling my body every damn time that he touches me, what will it feel like to finally get to be with him? Oh my God I can’t wait to find out. I even have a condom stashed in my handbag. I want to be prepared for what I know is going to be the experience of a lifetime. Yes, I have seen all the warnings… safety first. I can’t have an unexpected baby getting in the way of my future plans. Not yet anyway…
Although, I really can imagine myself having a family with Garrett someday. Sometimes, I imagine what it would be like to walk down the aisle in my big white dress and to become his wife. Sadie will be my bridesmaid of course, because she will be totally on board once she knows how much in love we are. Plus, she will make a fantastic auntie as well. Not just an auntie because she’s my best friend but because when Garrett and I get married, then we will be related as well. What could be better?
