“Proud of you, butterfly. Did a fuck of a lot with your life. It doesn’t matter how long it took or what was thrown your way, you did it. Now, you’re gonna do it with your man by your side.” I wasn’t gonna throw that out there right before she had to be at school in case Shila started to cry, not that I’d mind if she did. Not thinking she’d like that right before class though.
“Thanks, Bennett. You’ve done great for yourself, too, you know? I see what you try to hide, and I’d be proud to have my man by my side.” She lifts up on her toes, arms going around my neck, and her lips land on mine. This one is not as chaste as the one on her front doorstep. The slow sweeps of her tongue against my lower lip have me backing her up until her back meets the wall, grabbing her by the back of those shapely thighs that have me wanting to get on my knees and sink my face into her cunt, lap up every delicious inch of her. My tongue sweeps into her mouth. Her hips thrust up, rubbing against my cock, only making my balls bluer. It’s worth it, though. I’ve wanted to feel Shila beneath me since the moment I stepped back into her life.
“Butterfly, fuck, you make me lose control.” I pull away, knowing she’s got to get to class, and even if her body wants me, it may not be the smartest move.
“But, Bennett, I like the fact that I make you forget what you need to do.” She bucks her body into mine.
“Love that you like that, Shila. You might not if you’re late to school, though.” I hold her hips in place and take a step away from her, waiting till she’s got both feet planted on the ground before I fix my aching dick.
“Shit, shit, shit. We’ll be talking about this later. Right now, we have to go, or I’ll be late.” She moves around, grabbing her bag, a banana from the counter, and then her keys.
“Yeah, we will.” I take the keys from her, lock the door, and then I give my woman a different kind of ride than I want to.

SHILA
For the first time since I’ve been on my own, going to school, working, living the single life, I found it hard to concentrate. On every single thing, class taking the cake, and I’ve come too far now to fuck it all up.
If my teacher had caught me daydreaming, I would have been mortified. Thankfully, I pulled myself together, got through class, walked outside, and just like Bennett said, he was there and waiting for me. Of course, there were hushed whispers from my other female classmates as well as male, who had no problem gawking as I slid behind Bennett. He took off so fast all I could do was hold on and laugh. Sadly, the ride was over entirely too fast.
Now, I’m working at the Inn alongside Jolie in the laundry room after Bennett left me with another scorch-your-panties-off kiss that all but had me begging to ditch work and stay wrapped around him.
“Are you sure you know what you’re doing? I heard Shadow can be, well, intense,” Jolie says. I arch my eyebrow at her. “Okay, fine. I know Decker can be, too, when he’s in his Rage alpha biker mode. I just worry, is all.”
“I’m positive. I didn’t tell you, but before I came to Louisiana, I lived in a small town in Texas, smaller than where the club is now in Ely. I’ve known Bennett since I was fifteen years old. He was my first boyfriend, first lover, heck, he was my first everything.” I take a break between folding towels. Jolie’s face is one of surprise.
“No freaking way. How is that even possible? I mean, you land in this town, clearly, you haven’t seen him in forever, and you’re both here now? This is kismet. And I thought what Decker and I have is great. Talk about taking the cake.” I have to laugh at her comment.
“It seems that way. I think we have a lot of ground to make up, and I know it’s going to be so damn hard. We’ve both lived on our own. Life taught us some hard lessons, but I know what it’s like to live without Bennett, and that’s something I never want to go through again.” I’ll eventually tell Jolie everything that went down, maybe when we’re alone and there isn’t an opportunity for guests to pop in and interrupt us.
“Then you need to ignore me, but you also need to listen to me. You work hard. You deserve to play hard, too. If that means you take a day off, do it. Please, I’m begging this of you, Shila. The Inn is doing great, and we can afford to bring in some part-time high schooler in the afternoon. You’ve got this one life. You’re lucky some great maker is watching over the both of you, but that doesn’t mean you should take it for granted. Take the time. With that being said, you’re off this weekend.” I start to reply, but Jolie puts her hand up to silent me. “Do this, please. I’m still paying you, so don’t worry about that. And know that you have a very special place in my heart, and I love you like a sister.”
