Midlife Valentine: A Later in Life Single Mom Romance - Page 35

He laughed that loud, boisterous laugh that had become his trademark. “I am not normal, that’s why,” the charming Italian said with another laugh. “I need to know the address of that backwater town you call home now.”

“You sending me a bonus check or a Christmas card?”

“You forgot,” he said, his voice thick with disappointment. “I hope this doesn’t mean you’ll arrive in Paris with a beer belly and barbecue stained lips.”

“That’s prejudiced,” I told him with a small laugh.

“I don’t know prejudiced, all I know is what I see on television,” he said, offended.

“You don’t watch television, Alexi.”

“No, but I used to when I was a boy. Now Trey, I need your address or you’ll have to pay for your own plane ticket.”

I pinched the bridge of my nose at his vagueness. “Plane ticket for what?”

“You have one final shoot for Mobius on your contract. One last big fat paycheck unless you’ve changed your mind about this retirement nonsense?”

“I haven’t.”

“I did not think so,” he grumbled. “Just send me your address,” he ordered and abruptly hung up.

“Yeah, nice talking to you too,” I said mockingly.

“You have to go,” Valona guessed correctly, or maybe she’d heard every word of the conversation.

“Apparently I’m contractually obligated to do this last shoot. I’ll only be gone for a week, though.” My shoulders fell as a million different thoughts crossed my mind, and Keri was front and center. “I can’t leave Keri so soon, she’s still worried that we’re not a forever family.”

“They’ll sue you if you don’t go.”

“I know, but what will I do?” I needed to stop my thoughts from racing, I needed to get out of this car that smelled like sex and Valona. “Okay, I can figure this out.”

Valona put a gentle hand on my forearm. “Keri will understand, Trey. That’s the good thing about raising a baby genius, exceptional logic.”

“And if she doesn’t? Even baby geniuses can be emotional from time to time.”

“If logic fails, I find that bribery rarely does.”

A bark of laughter escaped at her words. “Thank you, Valona. I needed that.” I looked at her, but she was looking out the window where the rain had finally let up and the sun streaked across the sky.

“Hey, we’re good right?”

She nodded. “We’re good Trey. I’m not making demands.”

“I’m not asking you not to make demands, just don’t act like I’m not coming back. It’s just a week.”

She nodded again and finally turned to look at me. “I’ll look after Keri while you’re gone, Trey.”

I gave her hand a squeeze. “That’s great, but that’s not what I’m after right now.”

“What are you after?”

“I want to know that when I get back, nothing will have changed between us.”

“Why would it?”

“Because I can already feel you pulling away from me.”

She flashed a sad smile. “I’m right here, Trey.”

“It’s too far,” I growled and yanked her back on my lap. “That’s better. Are we good, Valona? Tell me you won’t forget about me while I’m gone. Tell me you won’t fall for some silver fox after a week’s absence.”

She laughed. “I won’t fall for some silver fox after a week. But if you stay gone nine days, all bets are off.”

“I’ll make sure you don’t even want to look at another man while I’m away,” I told her as my hand slid under her dress to find her pulsing for me already.

“That’s a mighty big promise,” she said on a breathless moan, gorgeous with her forehead pressed to mine, eyes closed tight with a sly smile. “I’m not sure you should be making promises of that…size.”

I chuckled at her joke and flipped the latch on the side of the seat so were practically lying down. “That sounds like a challenge, sweet Val.”

“Nope.” She smiled and licked her lips. “It’s just an observation.”

I held her hips and slowly slid her down on my cock, enjoying every sultry moan that escaped her lush lips. When we came together this time, it was hard and fast, a frenetic pace as if we were both scared this might be the last time we were together like this. Just the two of us.

I couldn’t keep my eyes off Valona’s expressive eyes, her animated face. The look of complete surprise whenever I moved and she found another position she liked. She was beautiful and unique, hungry for the pleasure we found together, and I in turn was eager to see that look on her face and to know I had put it there.

“Trey,” she moaned and moved her hips in quick, deep rolls, rocking back and forth faster and faster as her body clenched around me, a sure sign she was ready to jump off that erotic ledge once again.

“I’ve got you babe. Let go.” She did, and it was glorious, so beautiful and sexy that I tumbled off right behind her, cradling her in my arms until the last aftershock rocked us.
