The Sheik's Unexpected Bride - Page 17

Tasim held his breath, feeling her inner muscles clench around his throbbing erection. She was so perfect, so hot and wet that he couldn’t think, couldn’t clear his head enough to slow down and make this good for her. Especially when she arched into him, taking him as deep as she could.

He absorbed every gasp and moan, intoxicated by the sounds she made. Thrusting slowly at first, entranced by the bliss of her clenching around him. Her fingernails bit into his shoulders and even that felt erotically perfect.

Tasim couldn’t slow down. Thrusting faster, he matched every lift of her hips with a thrust, bringing them to that peak faster than he expected. She screamed his name, her body quaking with her release a

nd Tasim felt himself explode. His own release was so intense, he was worried that he might hurt her with the urgency of his thrusts.

Finally, the storm calmed and he could breathe again. Looking down, he saw that Luna’s eyes were closed and…and she looked absolutely transcendent. Her dreamy smile was the most amazing thing he’d ever seen.

He’d done that to her, he thought with pride. He’d put that look of pleasure on her face.

He pulled away, intending to use the bathroom to clean up, but he found he didn’t want to leave her. So he stretched out beside her, and when she curled against his side, he pulled her closer, feeling as if this moment was absolutely perfect.

There was a long silence as they cuddled. Tasim rubbed her back, her skin like satin under his hand.

“Is this your way of making sure we aren’t yelling at each other?” she teased, her hand fluttering over his chest.

He chuckled. And because of her touch, and the smile on her face, he rolled so that she was once again underneath him. “What do you mean? I did make you yell. And maybe I should make you yell some more….”

And he proceeded to do just that.

Chapter 8

Luna practically danced down the hallway that evening, unaware of the giddy smile on her face. She felt good. Wonderful, actually! In fact, Luna couldn’t remember ever feeling this amazing before.

Was this love?

The thought was so startling, she had to stop and catch her breath. Her guards eyed her curiously, but she couldn’t explain.

Looking up, she realized that some of the guests were also watching her curiously, as the crowd headed into one of the larger salons for pre-dinner drinks and games. Tonight’s theme was a casino night and everyone had a bag of “chips” with which they could “gamble”. There would be no actual gambling, just everyone having fun before the wedding tomorrow.

Where was Tasim? She looked around, eager to see him again. Was that pathetic? She felt a bit pathetic.

As that question swam through her thoughts, another one popped into her mind; was this what love felt like? She’d never been in love. She’d never felt this strange need to see a man, to feel his presence. To touch him and see his smile and…!

“You are absolutely glowing tonight, Princess Luna,” Lady Everett commented, with a sly side glance.

Inwardly, Luna cringed. She did not like this woman. Not even a little. Countess Amelia Everett used her title and access to European society events to glean gossip, which she then discussed in her blog. That gossip blog was syndicated all over the world, titillating people who followed the countess’ column. Most of the information was wrong, but Lady Everett didn’t care. She pieced together facts that were completely unrelated, and formed her own version of any given situation.

“I’ve heard that you aren’t as thrilled about this wedding as the rest of the world,” Lady Everett commented, taking a glass of champagne from a passing waiter.

That was a surprise. Luna couldn’t hide her shocked expression. “I’m…not?”

The lady’s malicious excitement faltered slightly, but she rallied quickly. “Well, perhaps I should say that you’re not very happy with your future sister-in-law’s brother. Word is that you two have had words lately.” She smiled with delight. “Angry words?”

Luna’s eyes widened and she remembered Tasim’s comments as he’d dragged her down the hallway. Something about the hallways having eyes and ears?

Luna’s features softened into a polite smile. “Oh, I think Sheik Tasim has some amazing ideas. He’s a brilliant leader and I look forward to working with him. Our countries will both greatly benefit from an alliance.”

The woman smiled slyly. “Funny. That’s just what he told me earlier.”

Luna refrained from rolling her eyes. “Lady Everett, I know that you’re fishing for some salacious story here, but there simply isn’t one. My brother is marrying a beautiful, wonderful woman and they are deeply in love. That’s the story of this weekend.” She turned and spotted Stephanie signaling to her. “Now if you’ll excuse me, I have details to attend to.”

With that, she hurried away, waving to several people as she passed by. “What’s up?” Luna asked, turning so that she and Stephanie were shoulder to shoulder as they surveyed the party.

“Nothing,” Stephanie replied, adding in a bright smile and pointing towards…nothing in particular. “I just noticed that Lady Everett had you cornered. She’s been grilling just about every servant in the palace, looking for gossip.”

Uh oh! That was really bad! “What are they saying?” Luna asked, dread swirling in her gut. Had someone told that horrible gossip monger about Tasim being in her room all afternoon?
