Chapter Fifteen
“Imadeplansfor tonight,” Micah said, as they headed down for breakfast the next morning.
“I don’t know if I’m up for some fancy night out. I just want to get back home in one piece and get caught up on some work.”
“We aren’t going home, not today anyway.”
“We’re not?”
“Nope. I have a surprise for you tonight. But it’s here, not in Miami.”
“What kind of surprise?”
“One that I promise you will love. You brought sneakers, right?”
She rolled her eyes at him. “You saw my suitcases, right? I brought everything.”
“Yeah, I think we are going to need to pick up another one to get all that stuff back home. How did you even get the suitcase closed?”
“I sat on it. My big old Cuban ass was good for something.”
“Oh, sweet Izzy, I can think of lots of things that ass is good for,” he said, reaching around and grasping her backside in his oversized hand.
“Micah stop,” she said, jumping away from him, “People will see.”
“Let them, they’ll just be jealous anyway.” He reached for her hand and pulled her against him in the middle of the hotel lobby. Her arms wrapped around his neck and she moaned as his lips came down on hers. It wasn’t until they could hear a few kids laughing that she could feel the smile on his face.
“I think we have an audience,” he whispered.
Isabel laughed as Micah stepped back and took her hand, pulling her toward the hostess stand. The restaurant was huge, larger then any she had seen before. The second they stepped inside she could smell the sweet aroma of baked goods, and the scent of bacon from the buffet. There were servers bustling by them, clearing plates and refilling coffee for the numerous people who were already seated.
"Can you believe this place?" she said as soon as they sat down.
"It's pretty impressive. What made you chose here?"
"I was tired. Driving up here was kind of miserable, and by the time I saw the exits for Orlando coming up I pulled over to search for the nearest hotel. I guess I lucked out."
"I'm happy we are here together I just wish it was under different circumstances."
"It's been a rough forty eight hours, that for sure."
"I'm sorry Iz. It still guts me that you were so torn up over everything and didn't feel comfortable to come talk to me about it."
"I think there's a lot of things that we both could have handled differently."
"I never want you to feel like you can't trust me. If I had just told you about Sofia to start with then we wouldn't be in this situation right now."
"Probably not, but then we also wouldn't be hanging out at this super fancy hotel." She said smiling back at him.
"Do you like traveling?"
"Sure, I mean I haven't done much of it. Most of my life traveling has been with you for work."
"I like that." Micah said with a smirk, "We should plan a trip."
"You mentioned New York, I can start looking into it when we get back."
"Not that kind of trip, I want to take a vacation, with you... somewhere that'll make you happy."
