“That’s not how I see it,” I say, shaking my head. “The ability to love is a great gift, Remiel. I would rather love too many than none at all.”
“Humph,” he says. “I don’t know where I would fit in.”
I smile at him. “You are my sire,” I say.
“What is it that you are saying, Aefre?” he asks me, puzzled.
“I am saying that while you have done some terrible things to me, Remiel. I have seen the good in you. I want to believe that the man who loves Delinda so much is the man that you truly are. I have room for that man in my life,” I say.
“But not alone,” he states.
“No,” I say, shaking my head. “After what Sebastian did to me, I am done trying to figure out who to choose. It is the last thing on my mind right now. I was forced into a decision and I need time to get over that.”
“I understand that,” he says. “Do you remember anything of your time?”
“No, that’s probably for the best,” I say, feeling slightly shaky all of a sudden.
“You will remember, Aefre. Whether it be in your dreams or conscious thought, it will come back to you now that the spell has been broken,” he says, reaching out to brush my hair out of my face. “I will be there for you when that happens.”
I smile up at him. “You can be there for me now,” I say. “You can have sex with me and be the last one to have taken me. Not him.” The disgust I feel is overwhelming.
His eyes go wide in surprise at my comment. “Why me?” he asks, licking his lips.
“It’s your duty to be there in my time of need,” I say innocently.
“How do I know that this is real?” he asks. “I have heard of charges being in awe of their sires. How do I know that isn’t what you are feeling right now when you say these things to me?”
I give him a slow smile and turn around, brushing my hair over
my shoulder in the process. He gasps as he sees V.A. glowing a golden color, indicating Her absolute contentment. He touches me and I shiver deliciously, ready for anything he wants to do to me.
“She needs you,” I murmur. “Without you, I need my Guardian,” I add slyly.
He growls at me and grabs my hips, pulling me towards him. He bends down to whisper in my ear, “I told you he will never touch you again.”
“Then you must,” I breathe.
He runs his hands up my sides and I step forward and bend over, placing my hands on the edge of the bed for support.
“What are you doing?” he asks me sharply.
I look over my shoulder at him. “You are uncomfortable with the bump, this way you don’t have to see it,” I explain.
“Aefre, no,” he says.
“What now?” I snap at him as I stand up straight and turn around with my arms crossed. “You act like you have never done it before.”
I see his eyes cloud over and I swallow. I have wondered several times and now I have confirmation.
“Am I the only woman you have been with, Remiel?” I ask him.
“I have never needed another woman before or since we have made love,” he says haughtily.
“Oh,” I say, hiding my smile behind my hand.
“I will not take you like an animal, Aefre. I want to see your eyes when we make love,” he adds with a slight flush.
“Such a gentleman,” I tease him gently.
