Kissing Kringle - A Forever Safe Christmas - Page 14

“I love you so fucking much, Kristina. With you by my side, we can conquer anything that comes our way,” he says in a gruff voice. I move up to my tiptoes and kiss him.

“I love you too, Nicky. More than anything.” He grins.

“Damn right you do. Now, let’s go get our baby.” He gives me a quick kiss, too fast in my opinion and grabs my hand as usual.

He was right and there was nothing to worry about. After an hour in the courtroom, we got to walk out a family. Next, it is D’s court hearing.

“Hey, Kris, can you come here.” I give Kay to her daddy then follow my sister into the bathroom.

“Do you have a tampon?” she asks blushing.

“Oh shit,” I blurt and all the blood rushes out of my head. I feel a little dizzy as I do the math. I haven’t had a period in two months. At first, I thought I was just stressed because of everything that was going on, but Nick and I have been fucking like bunnies since we got together. We have never used protection. I do a mental check off some of my symptoms. “Fuck,” I whisper.

“Are you okay?” she asks rushing over to me

“I… I think I’m pregnant.” There is no doubt in my mind that I am pregnant.

“What?” she screams excitedly.

“Shhh! Nick will come in here and I want to take a test before we get him excited about it,” I whisper scream. There is no way he won’t be happy if I am pregnant. I mean for fuck’s sake he growls and talks about filling my womb with his seed almost every time we have sex. She hugs me.

“Okay. so that’s a no on the tampon?” she asks pointedly.

“Yeah, no. Sorry. Here, they have one of those things you can buy one from,” I say handing her a couple of quarters. Shit! I’m about to be a mom to a five-month-old and a newborn. get a stupid grin on my face. Fuck, I can’t wait to tell Nick. Her court hearing is faster than I thought it would be or maybe it felt that way because I was so lost in my own thoughts. The judge said that since she has a stable home environment living with us, he had no problem signing her emancipation order. On the car ride home, I am quiet and Nick, of course, notices.

“Are you okay, baby girl?”

“Yes, I need to stop at the store though before we go home,” I say.

“Okay, do you want to stay in the car, and I can just run in and grab what you need?” he asks, like the gentleman he is. I shake my head and Deanna, the best sister in the world jumps in.

“Actually, I need to get some girly things. Thanks, sis for trying to not make it weird. I’ll be right back,” she says, hopping out of the car. Fuck, I love her to pieces. She comes back a few minutes later with a big smile on her face. “Thanks, bro, let’s get home. I’m starving,” she says. We all laugh.

As soon as we get home, Nick goes to change Kay out of her dress and into her jammies while I snatch the bag from D and run into the bathroom. I quickly do my business then put the stick on the counter and wash my hands.

“Hey, baby girl what do you want for dinner?” Nick asks knocking on the door. When I don’t answer him, he walks in and his eyes land on the little white stick, then to my face, then back down. “Is that what I think it is?” I burst into tears and nod my head. He grins like a loon. “Fuck yes. I knew it!” He rushes all the way into the bathroom and drops to his knees. He lifts up my shirt and pushes his face into my belly. “Hey, little one.” I run my hands through his hair. I look over and see the plus sign.

“Oh my God! It’s positive.” D comes running into the bathroom with Kay in her arms.

“It’s positive?” she asks. I nod my head and she burst into tears too. “This is the best fucking day ever,” she says happily Nick stands up and we all hug

“It really is the best fucking day ever. I get my family and we have a little one on the way,” he says, kissing the top of my head. I can’t stop sniffling.

“Best day ever,” I say agreeing with them. We all laugh. This has been a day of both laughter and tears. I can’t believe this is my life now. I have everything I could have ever wanted and more.

Epilogue

Two Years Later

It’s been one hell of a ride, I think, as I pull the turkey out of the oven for my wife. I wait until she has basted it before putting it back in the oven. Once she sets another timer, she is back in the living room, where all the action is. Kayleigh is in the living room watching a movie currently, but she is a tornado. Who knows where she’ll end up next? I have to keep my eye on her at all times. Klaire, her little partner in crime is about eleven months younger than her, give or take. She follows Kayleigh around like a puppy. It’s fucking adorable.
