Chelsea
One Month Later
"He's going to have a meltdown," I whispered as I looked behind us.
"Travis will be fine. If he's not with us, maybe the guy will learn how to take a break himself." Not worried in the slightest, Antonio brushed off his manager easily.
The moment I suggested we go out on a stroll, he jumped right at it. After all, between shows, we had plenty of time to spend with each other. Sadly, a lot of it has to be preoccupied with practice. Sometimes, Antonio liked to mix things up by throwing in a new song in the setlist.
I think he liked seeing me light up once I mastered a new piece.
With practice sucking up a lot of our time, we never got out and about. Today, I wanted to go on a date. The weather was nice and the sun felt warm against my skin. Currently in Arizona, only one thing preoccupied my mind with the intense heat. Ice cream.
Finding our rental, we got inside. Before we even left the lot, he pulled out his phone, powering it down without a second thought. "No distractions."
Feeling a smile spread across my lips, I decided to do the same. We were definitely going to get an absolute earful when we returned. With another show tomorrow, we were terrible people for turning down our responsibilities. At least if I got yelled at, I'd have Antonio right at my side.
Like the two delinquents we were, we abandoned the hotel in search of places to hang out until we decided it would be time to face our consequences. Knowing I saw a perfect ice cream shop on the way here, we eventually found our way there.
Nice part about being with a famous musician was that unless people listened to his music or watched him play on a random street, they had no idea who he was. Out in public, people normally left us alone.
Being in public also had another perk. Antonio liked to wrap his arm around me, touching my body whenever he could. Liked to show other men how untouchable I was. By now, he should know I only would ever have eyes for him. Though, I'd never complain whenever we shared contact. Holding hands, hugs, kisses–I'd take it all.
After ordering our food, we claimed a booth in the corner. Large glass cups filled with cookie bits and ice cream made my mouth water.
"This was a great idea," he praised as he wrapped an arm around my shoulder. Giving my body a small squeeze, he made my heart beat a bit faster.
Despite eating the cold dessert, my body burned. Antonio sure was good at setting me on fire. Even the little touches completely did me in.
"Taste good?" he asked, the corner of his mouth twitching into a smile.
"Worth the search to find the place," I told him before sticking another spoonful past my lips. "Maybe we can take some back to Travis. Soften the blow a little bit."
He laughed and goosebumps lifted across my skin. Even after all of the time I spent with the older man, I still hadn't gotten used to the sound. Knowing that I could make him laugh made my chest fill with joy.
"I love you." The words came out with ease and his hand abandoned my shoulder. Sliding down the length of my body, his fingers brushed against my hips.
"Keep that up and I'm not sure I'll survive a trip through the town. You're making me want to take you back to the hotel." Leaning in my direction, his breath brushed against my hair.
Biting down on my lip, I tried to contain my grin. If confessing my love got him wound up, I might have to see where teasing him would get me. I didn't even care if we didn't make it to the hotel. With him, I'd happily be taken anywhere to fool around.
"Better eat your ice cream before it melts. Be a shame to let all of that got to waste." Pulling my attention off of him, I tried to ignore the way his fingers brushed against my hip. He knew how sensitive I felt. Every spot his fingertips touched felt hotter than the temperature.
The hotel has nice air conditioning. Thinking about suggesting it as a reason to go back, I knew I wouldn't even need to go to that extent. The moment the words would leave my lips, he'd have the keys in his hand.
"How about we finish up and see where we go then?" he suggest, pulling his hand away. Of course, not without dragging his palm against my back. Damn him.
I'd fail at teasing him. He'd make me want more without even trying.
To think we had the rest of our lives to continue playing the fun game.
