I sighed. “Anyway, peanut gallery input aside, we will have to kill him if he doesn’t cooperate. We can’t let him run around. If Hail finds out Fallon was going to betray him, he’ll be dead anyway.”
Stella made a noise to protest, but I glared at her over my shoulder even though I knew she couldn’t see me. “You know it’s true.”
She mumbled, crossed her arms over her chest, and sank back in her seat.
I expected Levin to jump on the idea of killing him, but he was quiet. When he finally spoke again, his voice shook, “If we kill him, she’ll never forgive us. You know she won’t. If we’re scared of losing her, that would be the wedge to make it happen. We have a chance to bring her back to us. I think we need to keep him alive.”
“Do you think she’ll jet on us and run away with him?”
“I really fucking hope she still gives a damn about us after everything we did. But if she did run, I wouldn’t blame her. She deserves better than a couple murdering assholes.”
I nodded, silent as my guts churned.
“She loves him,” Levin said, his voice taking on a frustrated tone. “We can’t change it. I-I don’t know how we’re going to get out of this. Either he dies or he lives, but if he lives, they’re going to come after us if he talks. The entire Bratva.”
I shrugged. “We wanted a war.”
“We did,” he murmured. “But it could mean she’s still not safe, so is it worth it? Matteo might not harm her, but Ivanov sure as fuck would. We didn’t think this through enough. Now with Dom married to her, she has a bigger target on her back.”
I ground my teeth, thinking about all the shit that could go wrong. Levin was right. We didn’t think it through.
“So now what?”
“Let’s see how today goes. Keep in touch with Dom. If anyone asks about them, we’ll say they decided to take a long weekend together. As for Fallon, we don’t know shit. Got it?”
“Yeah,” I said, sighing. “I can’t wait for this day to be over so we can get back to the safe house.”
“If Dom lets us come back. He might make us stay on campus to keep up appearances.”
Motherfucker would do something like that.
He’d be honeymooning with baby B while we were stuck trying to clean up the mess. But I’d do it. For B, I’d do anything.

At lunchtime,I sat on a table in the courtyard, watching students mill around. I didn’t have much of an appetite and was waiting for Levin to show up. Not much was happening at Bolten. No one was talking about shit. Dom and B’s absence didn’t seem to be a big deal, but it probably would be if it lasted for more than a couple of days.
Ivanov and the lords were at their table near one of the old oak trees, their disciples by their sides. I hadn't heard any murmurings about Fallon being gone, but it was just day two. I knew the lords had to be looking for him. I hoped with Dom being absent as well, the lords wouldn't think Fallon had run off with B. Of course, maybe they thought she had, and Dom was looking for her.
Ivanov peered across the courtyard at me for a moment before taking a step toward me. Then another. And another. I got to my feet and braced myself, knowing we were going to meet head-on in just a few moments.
“Where’s Bianca?” he asked the moment he reached me.
Nice to see he didn’t split hairs.
“Away with Dom.”
“Yeah? Where?”
“I’m sorry. At what point did it become your business knowing where the fuck our girl is?”
“Your girl?” Ivanov scoffed. “Please. De Santis has his dick branded on her tits. She’s his, and you know it.”
“You’re wrong. I would know because I fucked her over the weekend.”
His face reddened as he spoke, “I don’t give a fuck what you do with your whore.”
I raised my brows at him. “Really? Then why did you ask?”
“Fuck you, Valentino.”
