With a straight face, I shrug. “I have no idea what you’re talking about.”
“Right.” She grins.
That’s it. I won’t touch another woman in this damn bar. They’re too chatty. It’s my fault for sampling every flavor in here, but I’ve seen the error of my ways.
“Hey, did Max tell you that hilarious story about him and the twins?”
Claudette’s eyes sparkle with interest. She turns to Max. “No, he didn’t.”
Max shoots me a dirty look and I swallow my smile. Payback is a bitch. He’s been down on my escapades all night. I watch, amused, as he tries to turn Claudette’s attention away from the subject of his whorish ways. They have this back-and-forth flirting going on. I think it’s a bad idea to get involved with a co-worker, but to each their own.
“You play dirty,” Kevin says, chuckling.
“He deserves it.”
Just as I lift my bottle to take a swig, I see Grace walk in with a man who’s leaning way too close to her. As much as I try to fight it and tell myself I’m not jealous, the green monster rises. It’s the same guy I saw hanging around her when I picked her up from her support meeting last week.
What the hell? Is Grace dating?
