No, I won’t make that mistake.
“This is details about his workplace and hangouts.” Amy takes out two more sheets of paper. “His club is your best chance of getting close to him.”
She taps on the picture of the club. It’s called the Dark Odyssey. Just the name itself makes my skin tingle.
With the black tainted glass and gold accents on the doors it looks exclusive and extremely high end. There’s another look about it though too. Like there’s more than what meets the eye.
“He likes dancing?” I arch my brows.
“No, it’s a sex club.” Amy’s cheeks color and I bite the inside of my lip.
Mom frowns and bites down hard on her back teeth. “Oh God, this plan gets worse by the minute.”
I can’t disagree but if this is the way then it’s the way.
“This is where he has some of his business meetings,” Amy explains. “He seems to be there almost every night. When he’s not there he’s at Romanov Logistics and going there is far too risky. It’s a heavily guarded place and getting to see the boss is via appointment only. You wouldn’t get past the door.”
Mom gives me a worried stare and her hands tremble as she brings them together.
“I’ll be okay.” I assure her, even though I have no way of knowing that. I’m reassuring her anyway because I must. I can’t be in L.A. worrying about her worrying about me.
She gives a little nod and I feel more at ease. I spend the whole night trying to convince her this was the only way and I am the only hope of us finding out what happened to Eric.
She listens because she knows I am right, but she’s still worried for me and that’s something I can’t help her with when I’m worried for myself.
“So, the club it is,” I say to Amy.
She nods. “It’s a fifteen minutes’ walk from the hotel, so perfect. The only parts of this plan you need to really focus on is getting in and out of the hotel without the guards seeing you. I think because of the way the room is set up, you could do it easy, but there’s always a risk. Maybe if you see how things go the first night then you’ll know how to gauge things from there.”
“I think that’s a good idea,” I agree.
The hotel I’ll be staying at is the Regis. When we found the hotel and checked out the rooms Amy realized I could get in and out of the room unseen by using the fire escape. It’s linked to the balcony.
Once we established how I could get away from the guards, the idea of when I could get away sprung to mind.
I’ll be using my damn curfew to my full advantage, just not the way I’ve been ordered to. Instead of being inside at nine, I’ll be outside.
Outside in a sex club.
My God. I never imagined going anywhere near one of those places. But I’ll do what I have to.
It can’t be an issue.
I have to focus on the things that matter. Like what the hell I’m going to do to get close to a man like Aiden Romanov.
And fuck, what am I going to say to him?
I can’t just walk up to him and ask him for the information I need.
“Well, that’s it,” Amy states tentatively looking from me to Mom. She finishes laying out the other sheets of paper making it five sheets altogether. One sheet with Aiden’s personal details, his picture, the club, and lastly a picture of Eric with his tattoo. “The rest is on you.”
“What are you going to do when you see him?” Mom asks staring at the picture of Aiden.
“I’ll think of something,” I answer knowing that something better be good.
“He isn’t going to just tell you what you need to know.”
“I know.” I get the feeling the man won’t hesitate to kill me. “I’ll have to find a way to persuade him.”
