“I want you. Three months… for that time I want you completely. You give yourself to me the way you did last night, and more. I want you for three months. Your body to do whatever I want, anytime I want and in whatever way I want.”
My breath stills.
I want to ask if this is the kind of thing where if I say no I won’t get what I want… but I don’t.
He’s set it out that way because he can see I want him too and I won’t say no.
There’s a darkness that lurks in the depths of his eyes however, that sexy as it is dangerous. It’s the obsession that he spoke of.
That’s what it looks like.
Like greed, need and hunger rolled into one.
It robs any form of protest from my mind.
“What say ye Giselle St. John? Remember… you have a choice.” The smile that dances on his lips pulls at my insides.
“Do I get you too?” I hear myself say.
He chuckles. “You want me? A nice girl like you wants me? Sweetheart, don’t you see I’m the devil?”
I run my fingers over the tattoo he has inked over his heart. It’s the Japanese character for water.
“I want you too,” I tell him.
“Then yes. Give me an answer, Giselle. I want to hear it.”
“Yes.”
Chapter Eight
Josh
The good girl and the fucking devil.
The thought makes my damn mouth water even though I’m drinking coffee.
Matt and I are in the break room at the office. He presses the button on the coffee machine to make his usual cappuccino while he continues to regale me with his recount of the craziness he’s been up to for the last few days.
Officially it was a business trip, but my best friend is just a little better than me when it comes to thinking up wild sexual adventure. He’s been my partner in crime from as long as I can remember. So I’m not surprised to hear how he turned that business trip to Phoenix into a sex marathon with the sassy, and leggy dark haired attorney at Porters he’s always battling in court.
Her name is Elena. With her Brazilian beauty, she has that Latina presence about her that has the man staring after her like a dog. It’s his downfall every time and the worse thing is she knows it. I’ve been watching this back and forward shit play out between them for two years and it’s so obvious in the courtroom when they argue.
One judge even told them to get a room. I’m so glad they did.
“It was just fucking explosive Josh, but now we’re back I don’t know what the hell to do.” he sips on his drink and looks at me like he actually wants my advice.
I shake my head at him and laugh.
This is the first I’m seeing him since he left last week. He’s aware of my debacle with Dad and Riley but I haven’t informed him yet of the newest complication. We’ve spoken on the phone but I always prefer to talk to him about anything like… well, what I’m up to in person. It’s just the way I am.
“Christ… I think I should ask her out, I should, shouldn’t I?” Matt says prodding for an answer.
I glare at him because if he doesn’t know that’s obviously the next logical thing to do he’s more hopeless than I am of finding that special someone. “Matt, you’ve been drooling over the woman for years. Stop being a pansy ass bitch and take her out.”
“Okay… where though? Restaurants might not be her thing. She’s an excellent cook.”
I just stare at him. “Matt, since when does a woman who’s an excellent cook say no to going to a restaurant?”
