Changing Seasons - Page 47

I wrotePaxton a letter and sent it in the mail along with a box of legos. When we were in college and finals were approaching, I bought legos as a fun way for him to relax and stop stressing. Sometimes we’d stay up all night with those things. Then there were the times we’d camp out in his room with his laptop between us and play the Sims.

Now that was always fun.

Building these obnoxiously massive houses with a bank account that matched since we knew all the cheat codes. Had more kids than the mansion had rooms but seeing the Sims have woohoo time always tickled us pink. Blame the hopeful romantic in me for doing it.

However, my letter was nothing more than black words written on my favorite stationery paper expressing everything I felt but couldn’t find the courage to utter in his presence. Reminding him that my love has never been conditional. That I’d wait for him. Confessing to praying to God and asking Him to send a dove message of thanks to Heather for loving him as best as she could while she had time.

To thank me for my letter he sent me a year's worth of M&M’s and a year's voucher to my favorite spa. Standing outside of Kameron’s house I felt like I’d begun this silent competition of who could spoil the other more. Then on top of that I loved to spoil my man, he deserved it and I deserved to spend time with him, so I was taking us out on a date.

Knocking on the front door, I waited bouncing slightly on the balls of my Nike’s for the door to open.

“Hey, Jacolby.” Dressed in sweatpants and a wifebeater, he stepped out on the porch with surprised bright eyes.

He wasted no time welcoming me into his arms. “Hi, Paxton.” I exhaled breathing him in. His damp flesh made me hug him tighter as my nose fell in love with his fresh shower scent. “I…I came to ask if you would spend the day with me.”

Lips moving fast along my neck making their way to my lips, he groaned as his hands roamed my waist and that arch in my back. “Let me change my clothes. Is that okay?” I sighed with relief and nodded my head.

While he went back in the house to get dressed, I sat in my car blasting my ac to cool my hot tail down. That man was too fine for his own good. Ten minutes later he came walking out of the house making me drool from his heavy walk. Watching him reclining in my seat brought back so many memories. Memories of his laughter. Memories of our sporadic adventures. Memories of us making love.

“The first stop on our list is Sky Zone. Ready to live freely?” I asked without taking my eyes off the road.

“I am. I’m ready, Jacolby.” Hands stroking my thigh, I heard the double meaning loud and clear.

We started out jumping on the large trampolines at Sky Zone like oversized kids. How I managed to jump higher than his six-foot-three height is beyond me, but I loved it. We raced and challenged other kids and adults to a jump off. Paxton always had a competitive bone that wouldn’t allow us to lose, and we didn’t. If I’m not mistaken, he pushed several of the kids making them fall.

Next on the agenda, we went to iFLY. I always said that when I grew some dare-devil balls between my legs I’d skydive, and I wouldn’t pop my cheery with anyone other than Paxton. This was as close as I was going to get, and the indoor park didn’t disappoint. It felt so surreal to let our inhibitions down and be carefree. Paxton wasn’t at all afraid of heights like me. Even though we were in a motorized tube, he still made sure I was comfortable, and it was exhilarating to be so free, smiling, and laughing with him.

Hungry from all the fun we stopped at Queen City Wings, my favorite chicken restaurant. The place was packed to compacity. I thought we’d have to order to go but since I was a familiar face because I frequented the establishment so much, they found a spot for us right in front of the large, big screen TVs. Out of all the sports in the world to love I had a love for boxing, and tonight two of my favorite boxers were having an anticipated match on Pay-Per-View. Mention boxing and I became a crazed fan. In college whenever there were matches on tv, I’d dragged Paxton to the loudest bar on the planet. He hated crowds but went and never complained just to please me.

I admit on the drive home I became sad that our day of fun was coming to an end. He ended up driving us back to Kameron’s house, talking on and on about the boxing match while I stared at him in awe. He provided me with so much peace.

“Jacolby, get back in the car. You don’t have to walk me up.”

I smiled up looking into his coffee brown eyes. Tucking a piece of hair behind my ear, I leaned on the hood of my car lusting after this man. “I know, Paxton but I’m not in the business of being labeled as a horrible date.”

Grasping my hand in his, he brought it up to his lip. “So, this was a date?” He teased.

“Y-yes. But…” He cut off my words by pulling up me into his chest and giving me what I’d been yearning for all day. With small pecks, he kissed my cheek, my nose, and my chin. “Paxton…” I was tired of all the teasing.

“Tell me what you want, Sassy.”

My body felt so hot and my head felt lightheaded.

Pushing him back, I rounded my car, leaning over the driver’s window to turn up the volume on the radio. “Dance with me, Paxton. Exercise those two left feet.” Bashfully he dropped his head to hide the redness of his cheeks.

“Nah, Sassy. I’m good with my view right here.” Wide legged, hands in his pockets, he gave me those sexy bedroom eyes. Licking his lips like I wouldn’t hop on the hood of my car and exercise the strength in his shoulders.

My lady parts were on fire. Trying to tease him I was doing more of a job of turning myself on to the point my nipples were pleading for lips to soothe away the agony as I danced my way over to him with pouted lips. My waist moving as I envisioned him holding my hips as I rocked us to ecstasy. “Please. Dance with me, Pi.” I purred, lifting a leg, and placing it next to him. Hips rolling and whining to the beat of the song.

I was playing unfairly.

Then, out of nowhere, images of the night I gifted him the greatest gift, my virginity, and history of why I call him Pi, replayed before my eyes.

My eyes drifted to my ankle tattoo as the memory continued to flash.

“3.14159265. In mathematical terms that means to infinity and beyond. Your love. Our love reaches boundaries and crevices only God could have created. Until my last breath, I promise to love you till the Lord calls us home and then beyond. You and I, we make the angels sing. Our love surpasses all others, and every day you’ll know how deep and long my love runs for you.”

Raising to his full height, he beckoned me closer. “Come’re Sassy baby.”
